Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1363: The Devils Within
Chapter 1363: The Devils Within
"I don’t believe it—not a word of it!" Yeom Hwaun’s expression twisted with madness, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at Ryusoo Jin. "You all must’ve noticed something was wrong back then. You murdered my father for your own selfish gain!"
Ryusoo Jin remained silent. He neither confirmed nor denied it.
In truth, he had noticed things were off toward the end of that battle.
But because of the bitter rivalry between the Water Vein Tribe and Fire Vein Tribe, he had turned a blind eye, letting things unfold as they did.
"The first one to be possessed by devils must’ve been Geumho Seungjae," Amalia continued, watching their expressions carefully. "He then lured Toyun Kangmin away and had a powerful devil possess him as well. That’s how they were both turned into devils." ƒreewebɳovel.com
She spoke while observing their reactions, prepared to adjust her claims if needed.
"They were very patient. This whole year, they only selected their most trusted people to be corrupted—because if there’s too many people being possessed by the devils at once it would expose them. They had a long-term plan. Every time there was a mission to eliminate devils, they brought along their close aides—and a few outsiders, none of whom ever returned alive, right?"
She turned her gaze to the people in the Metal and Earth Vein Tribes—and saw stunned expressions on every face.
"No... this can’t be true..." someone from the Earth Vein Tribe murmured, unwilling to accept it.
"Why the hell not!?" another person suddenly screamed in hysteria. "She’s right! Every time the Chief or his trusted aides led people out, only they returned! I never understood how my brother died... now I know—he was killed by him and his people!"
"Our Chief... has become a devil. What are we supposed to do now?" some began to cry.
They could already envision the terrible fate awaiting their Tribe without their powerful leaders.
At that moment, the five Tribes gradually split into two camps.
Geumho Seungjae and Toyun Kangmin stood together.
Alrhough neither of them had admitted anything, their behavior confirmed Amalia’s accusations were at least partially true.
"Your target is the Five Elemental Pearls, isn’t it?" Amalia narrowed her eyes. "Do you know what kind of supreme treasure they can summon?"
Geumho Seungjae chuckled gloomily. "What if we do? What if we don’t? You suddenly appeared here—surely you want the Pearls too?"
Amalia smiled slightly. "Not at first. I didn’t even know they were exist. But if the devils value them this much, it would be a shame not to get involved."
Geumho Seungjae’s face twitched.
She seemed genuine, but he didn’t believe her.
Helping the Fire Vein Tribe just because the devils were after the Pearls?
That explanation seemed too flimsy.
"Believe it or not. If you were merely human, I might’ve stayed out of your internal squabbles. But since you’re devils—well, you’ve only yourselves to blame. Now hand over the Earth Pearl and Metal Pearl," Amalia stepped forward, her aura erupting in full force.
"In your dreams!" Geumho Seungjae roared. "Do you really think you can stop us with this ragtag group?"
As he moved, so did Amalia.
Yeom Hwaryeon and Namgu Jaeun acted simultaneously, intercepting Toyun Kangmin. "Ryusoo Jin, the two of us will take him. You lead the others against their aides."
Ryusoo Jin paused for a beat, then nodded. "Understood."
The immediate priority was to eliminate the devils threat—everything else could wait later.
Yeom Hwaryeon glanced at the grief-stricken Yeom Hwaun and sent him a voice transmission, "Yeom Hwaun... put aside the past for now. Your father’s last wish was to destroy the devils. Help us fulfill it—let his spirit rest in peace, alright?"
Yeom Hwaun’s face contorted with inner torment, the tears welling in his eyes. "My father’s death can’t be in vain..."
"Then make it count. Killing these traitors is the best revenge you can give him."
Yeom Hwaun wiped his tears, opened his hands, and a look of fierce determination burned in his eyes. "Alright."
Yeom Hwaryeon finally smiled. "Good child."
Suddenly, Geumho Seungjae’s furious roar echoed out, "Impossible! What’s going on with your cultivation?!"
Everyone instinctively turned to look—only to find Geumho Seungjae on the defensive side.
Under Amalia’s relentless assault, he was being forced back, the wounds keep accumulating on his body.
Shock spread across the faces of the crowd.
Each Chiefs had its unique strengths—and Geumho Seungjae’s was defense.
Ordinarily, it took an attack with at least eighty percent of someone’s power to leave a mark on him.
Now, the supposedly well-defended Geumho Seungjae had been beaten until his clothes were in tatters, the blood pouring like a fountain, with gashes so deep one could see the twitching flesh within.
What shocked everyone even more was Amalia’s cultivation level.
Right before the fight started, her cultivation was only at the early stage of the Body Integration.
However, in just the blink of an eye, she had advanced to the middle stage of th Body Integration.
Not even taking pills could work that fast.
"There’s no such thing as impossible." Amalia brought her blade down.
There was too much power stored in her body, more than she could digest all at once, so she had to take it slow.
With each bit she absorbed, her cultivation rose accordingly, and when the internal tally hit ten, she naturally broke through.
The blade light burst forth with blinding radiance, as if it could split the heavens apart, enveloping Geumho Seungjae’s entire body.
All anyone could hear was a string of furious roars from within the light.
Once the glow faded, everyone finally saw Geumho Seungjae’s appearance.
His wounds seemed to have burst open—tiny cuts all over his body combining together, turning him into a figure drenched in blood.
Geumho Seungjae was on the verge of madness.
He desperately tried to suppress the invading blade energy within his wounds, but it just wouldn’t go away.
Instead, it continued boring deeper into his meridians.
With every bit of damage done, a portion of his power was lost.
This human blade technique was bizarre—it could bypass all his defenses.
