Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1359: The Alliance Forms
Chapter 1359: The Alliance Forms
Toyun Kangmin sneered. "If Ryusoo Yin is truly a devil, then he is the Fire Vein Tribe’s mortal enemy. They will gladly join the fight. Besides, having them involved spreads the risk away from us. One of you should send word to them."
Neither of the other two objected.
They knew Toyun Kangmin wouldn’t dare send his own people. After all, they had heard about what had happened deep in the forest— how Toyun Kangmin had even tried to kill a Yeom Hwaun and the other just to weaken them further.
"I’ll send someone," Geumho Seungjae volunteered.
...
Fire Vein Tribe.
Inside Elder Yeom’s tent.
When the rumors spread, Yeom Hwaun arrived in a frenzy, his eyes red with tears.
He clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles cracked. "Elder, was my father really killed by their conspiracy?"
Elder Yeom sighed, already expecting this reaction. "Yes."
"Why didn’t you tell me?!" Yeom Hwaun cried out in anguish.
Elder Yeom’s expression softened. "At the time, your cultivation had only reached the Golden Core stage. You wouldn’t have stood a chance against the Chieftains, let alone three entire tribes. My duty isn’t just to protect the tribe, but also to keep you safe. You are the future of the Fire Vein Tribe. If something happens to you, our tribe is finished."
He patted Yeom Hwaun’s head gently. "Your father’s revenge will come, but right now, our greatest enemy is the real mastermind behind his death."
Amalia who is watching them, smirked. "The Earth, Wood, and Metal Vein Tribes have taken the bait. Soon, they will reach out to you. Have you decided how to respond?"
Yeom Hwaun took a deep breath. "We’ll join them to eliminate the Water Vein Tribe first. As for other matters... we’ll deal with them later."
Elder Yeom smiled in approval.
The young Chieftain had finally matured.
...
The three Chieftains of the Metal, Wood, and Earth Tribes were very straightforward.
Before dawn, the three of them personally arrived at the Fire Vein tribe and stating directly that they wanted to see Elder Yeom.
They didn’t mention wanting to see Yeom Hwaun because, in their eyes, Yeom Hwaun, who was only at the early Deity Transformation stage, didn’t hold enough weight.
Although he was the Leader of the Fire Vein Tribe, unless his strength increased significantly, he could not gain a position equal to theirs.
Had this happened before, he might have cared, but now, for the sake of avenging his father, he had learned to endure it.
After Toyun Kangmin entered the tent, he didn’t mention about the previous attack on him together with the Water Vein tribe.
Geumho Seungjae spoke bluntly, saying he suspected Ryusoo Jin of being a demon.
"Right now, the enemy hides in the dark while we are exposed. We don’t know how deeply the devils have infiltrated the Water Vein tribe—maybe the entire tribe has already fallen to them. So it’s best if the four tribes unite today and go to the Water Vein tribe together to have Ryusoo Jin prove his identity. If he isn’t a devil, we will all apologize to him. But if he is, then we strike him down on the spot. We cannot let the devils take over the Oryeong Mountains."
"Do the three Chieftains have a concrete plan? Right now, we know neither their numbers nor their strength. Who will take on Ryusoo Jin and his top fighters?" Yeom Hwaryeon didn’t deny nor reject the proposal.
Geumho Seungjae replied, "It’s simple. Based on the Water Vein Tribe’s overall strength, if each of us sends two or three top fighters, it’ll be more than enough. When the time comes, the four of us strike together, take out Ryusoo Jin first before he has a chance to react. Once he’s dead, the rest won’t be a threat."
"We’re open to cooperation. But the Fire Vein Tribe will not act alongside traitors. I fear someone might stab us in the back again," Yeom Hwaun said, his eyes fixed on Toyun Kangmin.
His face didn’t show obvious hatred, but the chill in his tone lingered like a shadow.
Toyun Kangmin’s expression darkened.
Still, he knew he was in the wrong, so he said nothing.
Geumho Seungjae and Namgu Jaeun exchanged glances. "Agreed." novelbuddy.cσ๓
In that incident, Toyun Kangmin had indeed acted without honor and had been quite treacherous.
Yeom Hwaun’s distrust was perfectly reasonable.
"And this one..." After the discussion, the three of them couldn’t help but glance toward the silent Amalia.
"Miss Amalia is our guest," Yeom Hwaun said calmly.
Hearing this, the three of them no longer pressed the issue of Amalia, and they went on to discuss the plan’s details until daybreak before finally leaving.
Amalia stared thoughtfully at their departing backs.
To leave the Water Vein Tribe no time to respond, they decided to move that very afternoon.
Once they returned, they began mobilizing their forces.
On the Fire Vein Tribe’s side, Elder Yeom and Yeom Hwaun would be leading the operation.
The tribe still had a cultivator at the early Body Integration stage who had only recently recovered from a serious injury.
In order to prevent enemies from attacking while they were away, this powerful cultivator had to stay behind to guard the tribe.
The others couldn’t be sent in large numbers either, so Yeom Hwaun selected ten or so Deity Transformation stage cultivators.
"I’ll go too," Amalia suddenly said after everything was decided.
Elder Yeom was surprised. "Miss Amalia, you’re not from our Fire Vein tribe. You don’t need to get involved in our war."
Amalia smiled. "Slaying the devils is the duty of every cultivator on Mystic Continent."
Yeom Hwaun was delighted. "Elder, since Miss Amalia is willing, let’s bring her along. It’ll be good to have more support."
Yeom Hwaryeon looked at Yeom Hwaun who lacked a suspicious mind and didn’t know whether to feel glad or helpless. "Since Miss Amalia is willing, then come with us."
Of course, Amalia understood the doubts in Yeom Hwaryeon’s heart.
