Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1350: The Awakening of Fire
Chapter 1350: The Awakening of Fire
Yeom Hwaun wiped his face, finally unable to deceive himself any longer.
"If that’s the case, then all the more reason for me to find a way to slay that demonic beast."
The elder furrowed his brow, beginning to understand the chieftain’s intentions. "You mean to extract its core?"
"A core of the peak of the Deity Transformation stage demonic beast will be incredibly beneficial to my cultivation. I may be able to break through a whole new level. I must grow stronger!" Yeom Hwaun’s gaze burned with unwavering determination.
The elder could only let out a helpless sigh.
At this point, they were already beyond turning back.
The young chieftain had grown up.
Perhaps, if their previous leader could see him now, he would finally be at peace.
The team continued advancing.
The deeper they ventured into the mountains, the more frequently they encountered the demonic creatures.
Before they could even find the demonic beast hidden within the mountain cave, they had already faced seven or eight waves of demonic beast.
Their strength grew more formidable with each encounter.
"Elder, I just thought of something," Yeom Hwaun suddenly stopped. "Could it be that the rift where the demonic beast are emerging is within this mountain range?"
The elder pondered for a moment. "That is a possibility. The number of encounters today has been abnormally high—it does not match the usual pattern."
Even when they entered the mountains to hunt, it was rare to encounter so many demonic beast.
Yet this time, as they ventured deeper, they had been besieged by them endlessly.
The elder’s expression suddenly shifted. "Could the rift truly be within these
mountains?"
"We must leave this place," Yeom Hwaun immediately decided.
As much as he desired the peak of the Deity Transformation stage demonic beast’s core, he could not risk the lives of his people.
The team quickly withdrew from the dense forest and retracing their steps.
Fortunately, they encountered fewer demonic beasts on their way back.
Just as they emerged from the treeline, a sharp whistling sound tore through the air.
Yeom Hwaun sensed an immense threat and dodged swiftly.
An arrow shot past him, piercing through the massive tree behind him.
It was so thick that it would take five or six grown men to wrap their arms around it, yet the arrow penetrated it clean through.
The attacker had aimed to kill him.
"Everyone, stay alert! We are under attack!"
The sound of wind slicing through the air filled their ears.
Dozens of masked figures in the black robes descended from above while wielding enchanted weapons.
Without a word, they launched a ruthless assault, striking directly at their vital points.
"Chieftain, this must be the work of those tribes! They came prepared—we should retreat while fighting!" the elder quickly assessed the situation.
Yeom Hwaun clenched his teeth.
The Fire Vein Tribe had made many enemies, but only a few had the strength to launch such an ambush.
There was no doubt—it had to be them.
In times of crisis, people always seized the opportunity to strike at the weak.
He cursed his own powerlessness.
When his father had been alive, he had taken his strength for granted.
Now that he was gone, regret weighed heavily upon him.
"Elder, take a few warriors and retreat. I’ll cover you." He cut off the elder before he could object. "Send word back to the tribe and bring reinforcements. That’s our only chance."
The elder suddenly looked years older.
He let out a deep sigh. "Understood. Chieftain, you must hold on."
Without another word, he and two warriors broke through the encirclement with the help of Yeom Hwaun’s group and quickly go back to the Fire Vein Tribe for aid.
But the enemy had come prepared.
Although they still had a sizable force, they had already fought multiple battles against the demonic beast.
Many of them were wounded.
With the elder’s departure, the battle became even more desperate.
One by one, their wounds worsened—but none as severely as Yeom Hwaun’s.
He was the primary target.
Five or six people in the black clothes surrounded him, each of their strike leaving fresh wounds on his body.
Seeing his people fall, Yeom Hwaun’s eyes burned red with fury.
It was as if flames ignited within him.
An invisible heat spread from his body, and the surrounding air grew scorching.
"He’s awakening his Fire Seed! We can’t let him succeed—kill him now!"
The leader of the assassins barked the order, summoning more of his men to strike.
"That voice... it’s you!" Yeom Hwaun’s eyes widened with rage.
The interruption disrupted his awakening, causing his aura to falter—but his fury only grew stronger.
"So what if you recognize me?" The assassin leader sneered, unbothered.
In his eyes, Yeom Hwaun and his people were already dead.
"Why? Why must everything be solved through bloodshed? Why can’t we coexist in peace?!" Yeom Hwaun’s voice was hoarse, his lips stained with blood.
Madness flickered in his gaze.
He could not understand—people who had once been allies now turned on him the moment he was vulnerable.
Fueled by rage, Yeom Hwaun’s rationality began to blur.
But strangely, the heat around him intensified.
"The chieftain is awakening his Fire Seed! Hurry up protect him!"
Yeom Hwayue recognized the familiar warmth and shouted in joy.
Their people who are previously weary and struggling, found new strength.
Their spirits were lifted, and their morale surged.
For the first time, the assassins hesitated—Yeom Hwaun’s group was no longer as easy to defeat as they had anticipated.
Compared to the warriors of the Fire Vein Tribe, the heat radiating from Yeom Hwaun’s body made the people in the black clothes visibly uncomfortable.
The assassin leader took a step back while staring at Yeom Hwaun with calm through his exposed eyes. "Why struggle? You’re going to die sooner or later."
"If I going to kill you, would you just accept your fate? No, right? Then shut up!" Yeom Hwaun roared, seething with rage.
