Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1345: Devouring a Star System
Chapter 1345: Devouring a Star System
"What exactly do Fragment of the Worlds do? And why did this one react as soon as I came in?"
"A Fragment of the World is a piece left behind after a world has shattered. It contains a trace of world power. If you fuse it with your small world, you can refine that power to expand your small world and strengthen its stability."
Amalia gazed at the floating jade fragment.
Its glow was intensifying, though the fragment itself was shrinking slightly.
She could feel her small world’s barriers becoming sturdier, and its expansion accelerating.
Wealth also stared up at the fragment. "Mother, that old woman is really something. This Fragment of the World is no ordinary piece—it must have come from a Great World."
"Oh?"
"A regular Fragment of the World wouldn’t last this long if it were too weak. But this one has only shrunk a little, which means it came from a truly massive world. I wonder which ancient powerhouse it belonged to..."
However, even Wealth had underestimated the power of the fragment.
Just as it shrank to the size of a fingernail, it suddenly burst into countless beams of light, shooting in all directions.
In the blink of an eye, it fused completely with the small world.
At that moment, the small world experienced a rapid and forceful expansion.
Its borders abruptly extended by five kilometers.
Amalia sensed that the spiritual energy in the air had grown denser and more abundant than before.
"What just happened? This world’s boundaries expanded by five kilometers in an instant!"
To a vast land like Mystic Void Continent, five kilometers was insignificant—not even one percent of a single devil battlefield.
But for a still-growing small world, this was like receiving a precious gift of nourishment.
And expanding five kilometers at the outermost edge was vastly different from expanding inward.
Wealth’s two golden eyes widened instantly. "If that’s really the case, then this Fragment of the World is extraordinary. It might not be an ordinary fragment at all."
Amalia suddenly thought of a possibility. "Could it be a fragment of the vanished Immortal Realm?"
Wealth nodded. "It’s possible. After all, the Immortal Realm shattered as well. But for that old woman to even obtain a fragment of the Immortal Realm... she must be truly remarkable."
Just a single fragment of the Immortal Realm had expanded her small world by five kilometers.
If she could obtain more, wouldn’t that mean she could accelerate its expansion?
Amalia contemplated this idea and shared it with Wealth.
"In theory, it’s feasible. In practice, it’s a nightmare." Wealth fell into deep thought.
"Are fragments of the Immortal Realm hard to find?"
"Of course! When the Immortal Realm shattered, the fragments scattered in all directions. Who knows where they ended up?"
"Then where do you think is the most likely place to find more?"
Wealth continued to ponder. "Maybe, Mother, you could check with the sects. Some of them might have collected fragments of the Immortal Realm. Given how massive it was, it must have broken into countless pieces. If some sects managed to gather one or two, that wouldn’t be surprising. Of course, that’s assuming they even realize what they have."
Amalia understood.
On the surface, a fragment of the Immortal Realm looked just like an ordinary jade piece.
Without deliberately investigating, it would be difficult to discern its true nature.
"When we return, we’ll visit the sects and ask for these fragments."
"It’s a pity that old woman is gone. Otherwise, we could ask her directly where to find Fragment of the Worlds." Wealth sighed in frustration.
He hated people who only revealed half the story.
Amalia chuckled, unconcerned. "People shouldn’t be too greedy."
Wealth pouted. "I’m a beast, not a person."
Amalia laughed again.
Just then, a sudden tremor ran through her body.
Perched on her shoulder, Wealth felt it too. "What’s wrong?"
"I think I just sensed something incredibly important to me. I need to step out."
"I’m coming too." Wealth hesitated for only a moment before making his decision.
One human and one beast vanished from the small world, returning to the spaceship.
This was Wealth’s first time seeing the spaceship, and his golden pupils gleamed with amazement. "So this is the world of technology? What a fascinating universe."
Not seeing Kenny Lin inside, Amalia stepped out of the spaceship and found him standing atop it, surrounded by a dark aura.
Looking around, she saw that massive planets and asteroids were being pulled toward them at an incredible speed.
In just the short time she had been gone, the black hole had grown even larger.
She wasn’t sure if the spaceship had been dragged closer, or if the black hole itself had expanded.
Now, the black hole loomed before them like an impossibly close black sun, dominating their entire field of vision.
The increasing gravitational pull was steadily dragging them toward it.
The celestial bodies being drawn in passed closely by them.
Some of the planets looked familiar—upon closer inspection, she realized they were the mining planets where they had rescued humanity.
"Kenny, what are you doing?" Amalia immediately turned to Kenny Lin.
The black hole was already immense, but for it to pull in planets from tens or even hundreds of light-years away in such a short time seemed impossible—unless Kenny Lin had interfered.
"The Solvaris Star System was doomed to disappear sooner or later. I’m just accelerating the process." His voice echoed, distant and surreal.
Amalia thought of the Yin-Yang Pearl. "Can the Yin-Yang Pearl withstand this?"
She was concerned that absorbing too much too quickly might cause him to explode.
"Relax. If I can’t absorb it all, I’ll throw the excess into the black hole and let it handle the waste."
Amalia was speechless.
If the black hole had feelings, it would probably cry.
It was supposed to be the main character here, yet it was being forced to consume someone else’s leftovers.
"Big Dad is truly bold." Wealth suddenly appeared beside her. "He’s actually trying to devour an entire star system with the Yin-Yang Pearl?"
