Chapter 1315: The Untouchable Man

Only other royal bloodlines could identify them through scent.

No ordinary being should be able to recognize his true form just by sight alone.

"You humans are too arrogant," Orlyn sneered. "There’s always a bigger sky, always someone stronger. That’s a phrase from your own kind, isn’t it? I’ve seen plenty of people like you—overconfident in your own power, thinking you can do whatever you want. And do you know what happens to every single one of them?" His eyes darkened. "They die."

"Oh no, I’m so scared," Kenny Lin smirked, his gaze landing on a weaker alien clutching something tightly. "Your trump card... it wouldn’t happen to be whatever’s in his hands, would it?"

Orlyn stiffened. He knew? "And if it is? In the face of absolute destruction, no amount of strength can save you."

"For once, I actually agree with you," Kenny Lin said, sheathing his sword and gesturing casually. "So? Shall we begin?"

"Arrogant fool!" Orlyn roared in fury. This human truly didn’t see them as a threat at all. "Since you insist on dying, I’ll grant your wish!"

At his signal, the alien Kenny Lin had noticed pressed a button.

Instantly, every light in the lab shattered, plunging the room into darkness.

From all directions, beams of crimson light began to shoot out.

At the same time, the aliens who had been lying in wait swiftly retreated, sealing off the lab behind thick layers of protection.

More importantly, they had also isolated themselves from the red beams.

In the next moment, a terrifying scene unfolded inside the lab.

Anything touched by the red beams immediately showed signs of decay.

Metal, wood, plastic—everything corroded at an alarming rate.

This was the aliens’ ultimate weapon, reserved for only the most dangerous threats.

It was rarely used unless absolutely necessary.

This horrifying energy was extracted from their universe itself.

Even the Kings of their kind had to avoid it, as it could corrupt their very genes from the inside, breaking down their defenses.

Not even the King could withstand it unscathed.

They had named it Z-Rays.

The Z-Rays were highly infectious and almost impossible to eliminate.

If they were unleashed on a planet, they would create an irreversible disaster.

The radiation would linger indefinitely, slowly consuming everything on the planet until it became a dead world.

The rays would never truly disappear; they would simply reintegrate into the cosmos.

This was one of the reasons Orlyn had been hesitant to use them.

If things went wrong, even they might fall victim to the Z-Rays.

But sometimes, sacrifices had to be made.

If eliminating this human—this enormous threat to them—meant losing the experimental base, then so be it.

Watching the terrifying Z-Rays penetrate the man’s body, Orlyn smiled in satisfaction.

Kenny Lin suddenly let out a soft "hmm."

As the Z-Rays entered his body, he could feel a sharp force attempting to destroy his defenses, spreading outward.

He hadn’t expected these aliens to be quite this capable.

However, judging by their reactions, this thing wasn’t harmless to them either.

The immense spiritual energy within his body immediately retaliated.

The terrifying Z-Rays were like a king of beasts thrown into the middle of an ocean—no matter how fiercely it struggled, with nothing to grab onto, drowning was inevitable.

After suppressing the energy within him, Kenny Lin leisurely walked up to Orlyn.

A thick, solid glass panel separated them—one that was designed to block radiation contamination.

Under Orlyn’s terrified gaze, he grinned, bared his teeth, and raised his fist.

Boom!

The entire glass panel trembled violently.

Under the horrified gazes of the aliens, the glass, which was supposed to withstand enormous forces, failed to hold.

Starting from where his fist struck, it cracked like a spiderweb, spreading in all directions.

"Run!" Orlyn’s expression drastically changed.

He reacted quickly, turning around to flee first.

The protective glass shattered behind him.

The glass shards flew everywhere, and those who were too slow to escape were cut, their screams echoing through the room.

But the worst was yet to come.

With the protective glass broken, the residual power of the Z-Rays began spreading toward them.

Without any barrier, they now faced a double threat of death.

Orlyn ignored the others.

After escaping the laboratory, he rushed to the control room, grabbed Sycamore by the arm, and pulled him along.

"Orlyn, what are you doing?" Sycamore asked, confused.

The terrifying Z-Rays had destroyed the lab’s surveillance systems almost instantly, so he hadn’t seen what happened next.

He assumed that, even if the human didn’t die outright, he must have been severely damaged.

Orlyn turned back, his eyes bloodshot and filled with undisguised fear. "The Z-Rays didn’t work on that man. He even broke through the protective glass. We have to leave immediately!"

Sycamore’s eyes widened.

But instead of fear, his expression grew more and more excited. "What did you say? The Z-Rays didn’t work on him?"

"I’m not sure, but he stood within the Z-Rays’ range and still had the strength to shatter the glass. We are no match for him. My mission is to ensure your safety, and now you must leave with me. Otherwise, in a few moments, none of us will get out of here alive!" Orlyn spoke rapidly, giving Sycamore no time to hesitate as he practically dragged him along.

Sycamore suddenly seemed to realize something and spoke seriously. "Alright, I’ll leave with you."

Orlyn wasn’t surprised.

He assumed Sycamore had finally grasped the gravity of the situation.

But the next second, he heard something that made his heart sink.

"Once we leave this planet, report this immediately. Have the royal family send a massive force to capture that man. I must have him. I have a feeling that the ’key’ to our experiments lies within him."

"Fine." Orlyn took a deep breath.

But for the first time, he wasn’t sure if even the royal army could capture this man—someone who could withstand the Z-Rays.

Suddenly, a soft, almost casual set of footsteps echoed ahead of them.
