Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1289: Bargains and Betrayals
Chapter 1289: Bargains and Betrayals
Before they even reached the foot of the mountain, they saw Wealth rushing toward them.
The moment he spotted the triplets, he pounced and started beating them mercilessly.
"How dare you try to sneak away under my nose! I’ll beat you to death!"
As a Nine Heaven Pixiu at the Deity Transformation stage, Wealth’s raw strength was immense.
Even without using spiritual energy, his punches alone shattered the triplets’ skulls and left their heads swollen beyond recognition.
"Isn’t it a little late for that?"
Amalia watched as Wealth gleefully pummeled them, speaking in a calm tone.
Wealth froze mid-punch.
He had been hoping to play innocent, but his cover was blown.
Turning around, he put on a pitiful expression.
"Forget it. I don’t have time to argue with you. Just don’t let this happen again, or you won’t like the consequences." Amalia waved her hand dismissively.
Seizing the chance, Wealth immediately clung to her leg, rubbing his little face against it. "Mother is the best! I promise it won’t happen again!"
Kenny Lin scoffed, "Why do you spoil him so much? If you ask me, he should be taught a lesson—so he won’t make the same mistake next time."
Wealth shot a glare at his "Big Dad." Ugh, why he always ruining my act! Next time, he’d find a way to expose him too!
"What are you looking at? If it weren’t for your negligence today, Javier would’ve been killed. Do you know how hard your Mother worked to train him to reach Second level of Qi Gathering? If he died, could you afford to compensate for that?" Kenny Lin sneered.
Wealth lowered his head in guilt.
Okay, fine, he had no comeback for that.
"You take care of these three for now. Your Dad and I have things to do—we’ll deal with the rest later," Amalia said, ultimately going easy on him.
"Second Dad, don’t worry! This time, they definitely won’t escape!" Wealth patted his chest confidently.
"Good." With that, Amalia tossed the triplets to him, and she and Kenny Lin went off to gather the others.
Aside from the masked man, who was still intact, the three others—Layyan, Blood Raven Overlord, and Storm Claw Overlord—were completely unrecognizable.
The sight made the masked man tremble with fear.
Seeing that the masked man was present, Layyan immediately understood what had happened.
"You betrayed the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth!" His tone was firm and certain.
The masked man did not explain.
At this point, explanations were useless.
Whether they would even survive was a question in itself.
Their enemies had a deep-seated grudge against the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth; they would never let Layyan and the others go.
But the masked man had never expected that even Layyan would end up captured.
"Where is that man? This is your only chance," Amalia’s cold gaze fell on Storm Claw Overlord.
Storm Claw Overlord knew she was asking about that servant.
He had been tormented by Wealth for days—his bones shattered and restored over and over again.
The pain was endless; his tormentor was a true demon.
"I don’t know. Back then, he was the one who revealed the Vanquez family’s secret to the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth, but he only ever interacted with the Leader. I was just following orders."
Amalia took out a photograph of the servant and showed it to Layyan and Blood Raven Overlord. "Have you seen this person?"
Layyan remained silent, while Blood Raven Overlord shook his head. "I’ve never seen him."
"The intelligence from the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth wasn’t handled by me alone—there were two others. I haven’t seen him, but maybe they have."
"You had the most contact with your Leader. Have you seen him?" Amalia turned to Layyan, not expecting much.
Layyan glanced at her with a mocking expression, even lifting his chin in defiance.
Despite being in their hands, he remained arrogant.
"Mr. Layyan, you should just tell the truth," the masked man whispered.
"If I make it out alive, do you think I won’t kill you?" Layyan bared his bloody fangs.
The masked man’s heart tightened with fear, but he was also furious.
He had only meant well by warning him.
If Layyan stayed silent, he would definitely die, just like the Iron Howler Overlord.
Since he didn’t appreciate the warning, the masked man decided to stay quiet as well.
"You should listen to him," Kenny Lin grinned at the arrogant Layyan.
Layyan spat out a mouthful of blood.
When he was younger, he had once been captured by a cultivator and tortured half to death without revealing a single word.
Later, when he grew stronger and escaped, he returned and skinned the man alive, slowly torturing him to death.
"Looks like you’re a tough one," Amalia said calmly, putting the photo away.
Layya found this reaction strange but didn’t overthink it.
He had already guessed their goal—if he talked, he was dead for sure.
However, if he didn’t, maybe he could survive a little longer.
Enduring torture was nothing new to him.
Suddenly, the masked man let out a mocking laugh. "Mr. Layyan, I actually didn’t tell them much. The reason they know so much is that they read the Iron Howler Overlord’s memories."
Layyan’s head snapped around, his eyes locking onto the masked man. "You—"
Amalia’s hand was already on his head, cutting off his words.
His agonized screams echoed into the sky.
In the Pleiades Royal Palace—Negotiation Hall
The atmosphere grew increasingly tense. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
The alien royal clan was pressuring the Crimson Snake Emperor to punish Rafael and Duan Yao, making it impossible for the negotiations to proceed.
Everyone had expected the negotiations to be difficult, but no one thought they would reach a deadlock before they had even truly begun.
"Prince Ignis’Kai, this is neither your universe nor a planet you occupy. You don’t get to have everything your way," the Crimson Snake Emperor said coldly.
