Former Interstellar Mercenary In Urban Cultivation World-Chapter 1277: Storm Claw’s Past
Chapter 1277: Storm Claw’s Past
"Zehaan, you’ve got some guts. You really think you can stop us all by yourself?"
Zehaan Yuvan—revered as the strongest beneath the Elders of Pleiadian Ascendancy—was a prodigy surpassing even Jaymitra Shaurya.
He was the destined candidate for Elder succession.
It was said that if any Elder stepped down, Zehaan was guaranteed to take their place.
Clad in black, Zehaan fixed his cold gaze on the two Heaven-ranked cultists before him, his expression steely as he pointed his sword at them.
"Even if I stand alone, I am more than enough to deal with you both."
His opponents burst into laughter, as though he had just told the most absurd joke.
"Both of us?" one sneered. "Zehaan, do you really think we don’t know about your plans?"
Zehaan narrowed his eyes but remained silent.
"We’ve known all along that Pleiadian Ascendancy would send someone to intercept us, and that you, Zehaan, would appear. At first, we thought they would send reinforcements to protect such a valuable Elder candidate. But to our surprise, they sent you alone to face us."
"Do you know what that means? Their trust in you will be the very thing that costs you your life. You were already on our kill list."
Zehaan met his opponent’s gaze, his eyes are sharp as a blade. "Storm Claw Overlord, the two of you alone are not enough!"
As he spoke, Amalia descended from above and landing soundlessly in a blind spot unseen by both sides.
Her sharp gaze flickered like cold steel as she focused on Storm Claw Overlord—the man opposite the flower bed.
His bald head was covered in black tattoos, his face and thick, solid muscles giving him a menacing, beast-like aura.
The image of this man perfectly matched the intelligence reports Rafael had provided.
By now, the battle had erupted.
Zehaan is a swords cultivator, he unleashed his sword aura, sweeping up the fallen petals and turning them into razor-sharp projectiles, launching them at Storm Claw Overlord and his companion.
But Storm Claw Overlord and his partner seemed to have studied Zehaan’s techniques.
With a single stomp, they tore up a section of the ground.
Storm Claw Overlord then drove his fist into the airborne floor slab, shattering it into countless shards, each one shooting forward with deadly precision to intercept the incoming petal blades.
Taking advantage of this brief opening, their third ally—a tall but frail-looking figure—suddenly dashed a hundred meters ahead.
A series of black orbs ejected from their wrist.
Zehaan seemed to recognize these devices immediately.
Without hesitation, he retreated several meters, not allowing his opponent to get any closer.
With a flick of his sword, the orbs detonated midair.
"Petty tricks," Zehaan scoffed, preparing to counterattack.
But before he could make a move, a sinister chill crept up behind him.
For the first time, his composed face showed a hint of change.
Countless blood-red daggers shot toward him from behind and above, while Storm Claw Overlord’s companion blocked his front.
There was no escape.
Zehaan’s sword aura lashed out in all directions, but it wasn’t enough—several blood daggers still sliced into him, leaving fine wounds on his body.
A chilling, eerie laugh echoed behind him.
"Did you really think we’d only send two people to deal with you? Of course, three is better. Let’s finish you off quickly."
The strongest below the Pleiadian Ascendancy Elders, Zehaan was an undeniable force.
Yet these people spoke of eliminating him quickly—not just because of their strength, but because of the deep confidence backing the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth.
"Is that so? Then let’s see you try!"
Ignoring the poison on the blades, Zehaan channeled his spiritual energy and unleashed his ultimate technique.
He paid no heed to the enemy behind him and instead lunged straight at the one who had ambushed him.
His fearless charge unsettled his opponent.
They had the upper hand, but if they lost their lives here, it wouldn’t be worth it.
Without hesitation, one of them signaled the others to strike immediately.
Storm Claw Overlord and his companion surged forward.
The ambusher no longer retreated.
Together, the three of them closed in, trapping Zehaan at the center before simultaneously unleashing their ultimate attacks.
Three waves of devastating energy engulfed Zehaan in an instant.
With this, even if he didn’t die, he would be completely incapacitated.
"Something’s wrong."
Storm Claw Overlord’s instincts screamed at him—something felt off.
Their attacks had landed, but it was as if they had hit nothing at all.
As the smoke and energy dispersed, they finally saw the truth.
Zehaan was gone.
Storm Claw Overlord snapped his head in one direction locking onto Zehaan, who now stood dozens of meters away.
Beside him was a stranger—a tall, commanding woman.
"Who are you?" Storm Claw Overlord’s expression turned wary.
For someone to have pulled Zehaan out of their encirclement, her strength had to be formidable.
Her face was unfamiliar.
She wasn’t in their intelligence records, and as far as they knew, the Pleiadian Ascendancy had no such person among them.
Even Zehaan was surprised.
He had no idea who she was or why she had saved him. freēnovelkiss.com
"You call yourself Storm Claw Overlord?" Amalia met his gaze with an impassive expression.
"You know me? Are you with Pleiadian Ascendancy?" Storm Claw Overlord took a slow step forward.
His two companions discreetly closed in as well.
"I’m not with Pleiadian Ascendancy." Amalia’s voice was calm. "I know you because I’ve been searching for you for a long time."
She continued, "Before we fight, I have a question for you."
"Oh? I don’t see why I should answer." Storm Claw Overlord subtly signaled his companions—prepare to strike.
"About 25 years ago," Amalia said, her voice steady, "you carried out a mission for the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth’s leader in the Erythar Star System. You massacred an entire family with the surname Vanquez. Do you remember?"
At the mention of those words, Storm Claw Overlord barely had to think before recalling it.
