Chapter 1273: Serpent’s Folly ƒreewebɳovel.com

They hadn’t even had the chance to transform into their true forms before being killed.

Their corpses fell straight to the ground.

Even in death, they remained in their human shapes—these alien species retained whatever form they died in.

Amalia’s gaze bore into Valen. "If this happens again, it won’t just be two of your men who die."

A shiver ran up Valen’s spine.

In that moment, he had the terrifying realization that if this human wanted to kill him, it would be as easy as crushing an insect.

"Let’s go." Amalia turned around and left.

Without sparing a glance at Valen’s reaction, Amalia gestured for the battle-hardened Rafael and Duan Yao to return to the hovercar.

As the vehicle lifted off, it left behind only a scene of devastation and a deathly silence.

The three guards clutched their aching chests as they struggled to rise.

Amalia’s attack hadn’t just sent them flying—it carried an embedded force that struck them squarely in the chest.

Even now, their chests burned with searing pain, as if they had been smashed by a massive hammer.

None of them dared to look at their prince’s expression.

As royal-blooded Scaldriths, they had never feared anyone, even in their own place.

But now, here they were—humiliated on a planet ruled by the very humans they had scorned.

There was no doubt that Valen was seething with fury.

But they couldn’t just stand around like this.

One of the guards, enduring the pain, hesitantly asked, "Your Highness, what should we do next?"

They were all injured.

If they encountered more human cultivators, they would be even less of a match.

They had casually rammed into someone’s vehicle, only to run into three powerful cultivators.

If they kept pushing their luck, who knew what other formidable enemies they might provoke?

Under the dim moonlight, a massive serpent suddenly emerged, its colossal maw gaping wide as it devoured the two bloodied corpses on the ground.

Once the bodies had vanished, the shadow of the snake shifted, transforming back into a humanoid figure.

"We’re leaving!" Valen spun around abruptly, his presence exuding an even stronger, more violent aura.

He couldn’t accept the fact that he had actually been intimidated by a human.

The three guards, afraid that he might change his mind, wasted no time in starting the vehicle and speeding away.

Meanwhile, Amalia’s hovercar flew past the estate where the aliens were staying, finally disappearing into the embassy ahead.

Some of the aliens inside the estate caught sight of the vehicle but didn’t think much of it.

Under the moonlight, a shadowy figure stood at the entrance of the embassy.

As the hovercar came to a stop, Rafael and Duan Yao saw who it was and, without needing to be told, tactfully left the area, giving them some privacy.

"You sure took your time," Kenny Lin said impatiently.

He had been waiting at the embassy all afternoon.

"We had to deal with that Storm Claw Overlord first—it took a few hours," Amalia deflected, then changed the subject. "Have the aliens given you any trouble?"

"They wouldn’t dare," Kenny Lin said smugly.

Amalia didn’t call him out on his bluff and merely chuckled. "I ran into some aliens on my way here. They were probably the Scaldriths. We killed two of them and let a rest go."

"Why not just kill them all?" Kenny Lin asked in surprise.

"One of them was likely a prince of their kind. If I wiped them all out, it might complicate tomorrow’s plans, and that wouldn’t be ideal."

Everything was within their control now, and the fewer unexpected incidents, the better.

If those serpents hadn’t actively sought trouble with her today, Amalia would have preferred to avoid a direct confrontation with the alien royals until after tomorrow.

"Boring," Kenny Lin muttered. "What’s your plan for tomorrow?"

"Let’s head inside first," Amalia said, pulling him along as they walked into the embassy. "I want to deal with the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth’s followers first. They never act in large groups, so we’ll have to take them down one by one. As for the Storm Claw Overlord, I want to capture him alive."

"Didn’t Rafael’s intel say there were three cultists? The other two aren’t part of this operation?"

"One of them is. He’s working with the Storm Claw Overlord," Amalia replied.

If she hadn’t been worried that taking out the other members would alert the Storm Claw Overlord and cause him to vanish without a trace, she would have struck back at the café.

That had been a golden opportunity.

Her true goal wasn’t to rid the Crimson Moon Dynasty of the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth—it was to find the murderer responsible for the slaughter of the entire Vanquez family years ago.

"The Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth—what’s their plan for tomorrow’s negotiations?"

Amalia kept it simple. "They plan to ambush the delegation on their way to the negotiation meeting."

Kenny Lin’s expression turned intrigued. "Even the aliens?"

"They’re not targeting the aliens. The aliens attacking the Andromeda Universe is exactly what they want. Their goal is simply to sabotage the negotiations."

"Bold of them." Kenny Lin chuckled. "The Crimson Moon Dynasty’s forces are already prepared. Not long after you left, they sent a significant number of cultivators. Right now, they’re stationed around the embassy. You can sense them with your divine sense."

Amalia extended her divine sense and indeed detected several unfamiliar presences.

There were at least twenty or thirty of them, and even the weakest among them had reached the Foundation Building stage.

Clearly, the Crimson Moon Dynasty was taking this matter very seriously.

They wanted to use this opportunity to deliver a severe blow to the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth.

Even if they couldn’t eradicate the cult entirely, wiping out the members involved in tomorrow’s ambush would still be a devastating loss.

It would cripple the cult’s operations for a while and preventing them from making any major moves.
