Chapter 1262: Revealing the Past

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 stared at her for a moment before asking, "What do you want to know?"

"What exactly was the Vanquez family’s heirloom? Why was it so important to you?" Amalia wanted to confirm whether their real target had been the Soltice Ring when they wiped out the entire Vanquez family.

"I don’t know the exact nature of their heirloom. Only the Leader knows about it. It was an order given directly by him."

Hearing this, Amalia realized something was off.

According to what had been pieced together, a disgraced Vanquez family servant had betrayed them.

But if the command had come from Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth’s leader himself, that version of the story didn’t add up.

"That’s strange. I heard it was a Vanquez family servant who sold them out and leaking the information to Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth."

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5’s expression changed. "Where did you hear that?"

"Why? Do you mean I shouldn’t know about it?" Amalia asked calmly.

"Fewer than five people know about this. There’s no way anyone else could have found out. Who told you?" Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 was growing more suspicious.

"Seems this is even more complicated than I thought." Amalia remarked.

"You’re not Viper!" The masked man suddenly lunged at her.

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 didn’t hesitate for a second—just a heartbeat later, he attacked as well.

Both of their eyes reflected Amalia’s utterly unshaken expression.

Just as they reached her, all three figures vanished at once.

The surroundings shifted abruptly.

The lush villa garden and elegant mansion were gone, replaced by an expansive, desolate land.

In the distance lay a vast and dense primeval forest.

A cold wind swept through, snapping the two men to their senses.

They instinctively leapt backward, putting as much distance between themselves and Amalia as possible.

"Who are you?!" Their voices were filled with shock and anger, their eyes dark with the weight of losing control.

Amalia waved her hand, and the illusion around her dissipated instantly, revealing her true face.

"Viper is dead. You killed him, didn’t you? And Lal Hiran—he died by your hands too?" The masked man quickly put the pieces together.

"Viper isn’t dead." Amalia’s indifferent gaze fell on Iron Howler Overlord No. 5. "You seem to know quite a bit about the Vanquez family. Tell me everything you know."

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5’s face turned ice-cold. "We attack together. Kill her!"

"Kill her!"

Both men charged at Amalia simultaneously—only to realize, in the next second, that they couldn’t move.

Terror immediately filled their faces.

"What’s happening? What did you do to us?!" Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 roared.

"This is my world." Amalia tilted her head slightly, watching him. "If I want you to live, you live. If I want you to die, you die."

Her voice was calm, almost playful.

"Now, tell me—do you choose life, or death?"

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 sneered. "Kill me, and you won’t learn a thing. You also won’t be able to use my identity for anything. The Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth is far more complicated than you think."

"If you kill us, you’ll become the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth’s number one target." The masked man spoke coldly. "No one has ever escaped once the Holy Gate of the Heaven and the Earth has set their sights on them."

"Oh? Then what about the Vanquez family survivor? You haven’t been able to find them, have you?" Amalia chuckled, unfazed.

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 gritted his teeth. "Who exactly are you? Why are you so obsessed with the Vanquez family?"

Amalia ignored their questions and calmly stated, "Because I am the Vanquez family survivor you’ve been searching for."

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5’s eyes widened in shock. "Impossible! There’s no way you could be the Vanquez family’s last survivor!"

This person’s cultivation was clearly far beyond theirs.

How could anyone reach this level in just two or three decades?

"My name is Amalia Vanquez."

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 visibly flinched.

If it weren’t for the restraints binding him, he would have lost control right then and there.

He had never forgotten that name—it belonged to the sole surviving member of the Vanquez family.

The masked man suddenly recalled another rumor. "Could you be the envoy from the Erythar Star System?"

Amalia had been making waves in Planet Omicron’s territories.

Recently, there had been talk of a great war with alien forces, during which the Erythar Star System had unexpectedly risen in power.

It was said that their envoy group contained two highly skilled cultivators, which had made the Crimson Moon Dynasty treat them with newfound respect.

However, the masked man had first heard of this incident not because of the famed garden sparring event but because, when the eight star systems departed from the Crimson Moon Dynasty Palace, an ambush had been launched.

Four members of their Holy Gate of the Heaven and Earth had died when they attacking the people from the Erythar Star System.

As one of the leaders of that operation, the masked man had investigated afterward and learned that the cultivators who had killed their members were named Amalia and Kenny Lin. novelbuddy.cσ๓

He was unfamiliar with the events surrounding the Vanquez family massacre thirty years ago, so the name Amalia hadn’t triggered any initial reaction.

If Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 had been the one leading that mission, however, he would have made the connection immediately upon hearing Amalia’s name.

"I want to know everything that happened back then." Amalia’s gaze locked onto Iron Howler Overlord No. 5, unwavering.

Iron Howler Overlord No. 5 shut his eyes, wearing the expression of a pig ready to be butchered—completely unbothered by the threat of pain.

Now that Amalia had revealed her identity, he was even more determined not to say a word.

Amalia stepped forward, placing her right hand on his head.
