Entangled with My Ex's Uncle-Chapter 67 - Falling for Someone
67: Chapter 67: Falling for Someone
67 -67: Falling for Someone
Chi Yue was surprised, Fu Rongyin said he had left, but she didn’t expect him to come here.
“Mr.
Chu, didn’t you go to the banquet tonight?” she asked.
Chu Shuo looked at her with furrowed brows, “Chi Yue, haven’t you gotten together with Master?”
Chi Yue: “No.”
They indeed weren’t in any relationship now, except for the things that happened in bed.
Chu Shuo’s eyes were fixed on her without blinking, as if he wanted to see right through her.
Chi Yue’s heart pounded, her face showing no joy or anger, “Mr.
Chu, have you come so late just to ask me this question?”
“Chi Yue, I’ve never asked you, why don’t you want to be with me?
There has to be a reason, right?”
Chi Yue answered without thinking: “I’ve fallen for someone else.”
“Who is it?”
“Sorry, I can’t tell you.”
Chu Shuo laughed, “It seems that this person’s identity is more sensitive than mine since you’re protecting him like this.”
“Chu Shuo, one can’t force matters of the heart, you’ll meet someone better.”
“Gu Qingyu said the same to me before, she said she was going after her happiness, yet she didn’t end up happy, did she?”
Chi Yue didn’t know how to comfort him, so she chose to stay silent.
Chu Shuo waved his hand at her, “Go back, I will leave in a while.”
“Then, goodbye.”
Without looking back, Chi Yue went upstairs, while Chu Shuo watched her leaving, images of her embracing Fu Rongyin kept appearing in his mind.
He took out his phone and called Fu Rongyin, “Come out, we’re not stopping until we’re drunk.”
——
It was several days later that Chi Yue learned that Chu Shuo had drunk so much he ended up in the hospital.
She wasn’t heartless, but visiting Chu Shuo would only complicate matters further.
She told Nan Bingyu about Chu Shuo’s confession and hid the transaction with Fu Rongyin from her; Nan Bingyu cursed, “Since when did Chu Shuo start playing the sentimental card?”
Chi Yue held her forehead, “The way you put it makes me seem horrible.”
“Fine, leave it to me.”
Nan Bingyu agreed to visit Chu Shuo, so Chi Yue called Fu Rongyin.
He was busy with something, as voices came continuously from the other end of the phone, a bit noisy.
Chi Yue said: “I’ll text you.”
After hanging up the phone, Chi Yue texted the questions she wanted to ask him, then waited for a reply.
Fu Rongyin didn’t reply, whether he was truly swamped or for some other reason, Chi Yue couldn’t tell.
After work, Chi Yue took a taxi to No.1 Bay.
Chi Jianshan’s company had taken a heavy blow, as Chi Qingqing’s uncle by marriage had pulled out his investment.
She had a premonition that the Chi Family would place all the blame on her, and by the time Fu Rongyin made his move, her dowry might have already been drained by them.
What Chi Yue didn’t expect was that she didn’t meet Fu Rongyin, but saw Gu Qingyu coming out from No.1 Bay instead.
With her was an elegantly dressed elderly lady.
They were talking and laughing with each other.
Chi Yue waited for them to leave before going upstairs.
She knocked on the door, which was quickly opened, and she saw the surprise in Fu Rongyin’s eyes.
“Why are you here?”
“Mr.
Fu, when do you plan to make your move?
I can’t wait much longer on my end.”
Fu Rongyin’s eyes darkened slightly, “Now is not the time.”
Chi Yue felt a tightness in her chest, “Are you waiting for a lucky day to handle things?
Mr.
Fu, the Chi Family’s company is in trouble, and I hope I can get my things back soon.”
Fu Rongyin asked her to sit, and he went off to another room.
Chi Yue had no choice but to wait.
It was then that she noticed the coffee table had many new small ornaments, and the living room contained more items suited to a feminine taste.
Chi Yue suddenly remembered the two people she had encountered downstairs, and a realization dawned on her, her face blanched.
Fu Rongyin came out of the master bedroom, handing her a document, “This is the compensation and guarantee Lin Yibin has offered you.”
