29: Chapter 29 Thank You for Mr.
Fu’s Concern
Chi Yue ran out of Pain Relievers she had gotten last time and got some more during her follow-up visit.
Carrying the medication, she was startled as she emerged from the clinic office to find a man standing at the door.
As she steadied herself, crisp laughter came from the office, “Brother, if you keep standing here, my teacher’s office will be overcrowded.”
That’s when Chi Yue realized the assistant in the office was calling Fu Rongyin.
She took a moment to compose herself and then walked away.
“Hey, where are you going?
Aren’t you waiting for Sister Qingyu?”
Chi Yue heard the voice as steady footsteps sounded from behind her.
She stood by the elevator, waiting.
The footsteps stopped short, replaced by Fu Rongyin’s deep voice, “What’s bothering you?”
“Thank you for your concern, Mr.
Fu; there’s nothing wrong,” she replied. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Fu Rongyin glanced at the medication in her hand, “Is that what you say, or should I see for myself?”
Chi Yue: “Pain Reliever.”
“Where does it hurt?”
Chi Yue answered patiently, “Menstrual pain.”
The man paused, glanced briefly at her abdomen with an almost imperceptible look, and then turned to walk away.
Chi Yue glanced from the corner of her eye and saw a sweet and pretty girl quickly approaching him.
She pursed her lips and entered the elevator expressionlessly.
It was said that since Gu Qingyu came back, she and Fu Rongyin had been inseparable.
The rumor mill suggested their happy event was imminent; it seemed rumors sometimes did have substance.
Chi Yue waited for a ride at the hospital entrance.
A car pulled up in front of her—it was Fu Rongyin’s chauffeur.
“Miss Chi, Master has asked me to take you back,” the chauffeur said.
Chi Yue: “There’s no need; thank you.”
The chauffeur insisted, “Please get in the car, Miss Chi.
Otherwise, I can’t report back to Master.”
As he spoke, the chauffeur glanced upstairs.
Following his gaze, Chi Yue saw a tall figure at the second-floor window overlooking them.
Chi Yue looked away and opened the car door, “Alright then, I appreciate it.”
Upstairs, Fu Rongyin watched the car drive off, then turned his gaze to the woman making a phone call on the opposite side.
Gu Qingyu noticed his gaze and said into the phone, “I’ve got something to do, let’s talk next time.”
She walked over to Fu Rongyin, “Brother AhYin, what were you looking at just now?”
“Nothing.
I’ll take you home.”
“But didn’t you say you would take me out shopping?”
“Xiao Yan said it’s not suitable for you to shop with your current health; let’s go.”
Reluctant to return home, Gu Qingyu never directly opposed Fu Rongyin’s requests and left with him.
The parking lot at No.1 Bay.
Opening the car door for Chi Yue, the chauffeur said, “Miss Chi, please step out.”
Chi Yue had already anticipated this outcome.
She got out, took the keys handed to her by the chauffeur, and entered the elevator.
Fu Rong’s house was as she remembered.
Chi Yue put her things aside and went to the kitchen.
She needed to fast for a test this morning and hadn’t eaten anything all morning.
To her surprise, Fu Rong’s refrigerator was full of food.
She had never seen a housekeeper at Fu Rong’s place, and he seems not the type to cook for himself.
The only plausible explanation was that Gu Qingyu had stocked the food for him.
Chi Yue hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn’t touch anything in the kitchen, choosing instead to sit in the living room and wait for him.
As soon as Fu Rong entered the house, he saw Chi Yue lying on the sofa.
He paused, approached her, “Did you fall asleep?”
Chi Yue was startled awake, sat up with eyes not fully opened yet, “Sorry, I got up a bit early today.”
Fu Rong handed her an envelope.
Chi Yue didn’t take it, “What’s this?”
