Dragon Ball Roshi-Chapter 305: The Divine Dragon Embroidered Tapestry
Chapter 305 - 305: The Divine Dragon Embroidered Tapestry
On the silk handkerchief was a slender, four-clawed green dragon with crimson eyes and two horns on its head. Its vitality, majesty, and mystery were all vividly brought to life by the embroidery.
Hathaway had stitched this dragon from memory during embroidery practice, drawing inspiration from the one time she had seen the Divine Dragon of the Dragon Balls. That experience—not just for her, but for both her and Taro—had left a deep impression that would never fade.
Beside the embroidered dragon were a few lines of text in graceful handwriting, briefly explaining the Seven Dragon Balls and the Divine Dragon.
Taro held the tapestry in his hand, studying it in silence. A faint smile appeared on his lips as he began to chant an arcane incantation in a language incomprehensible to most. As he cast his spell, the words on the embroidery began to come alive—shifting, reorganizing, being edited, added to, or erased altogether.
Before leaving, Taro turned to Jarvis and said, "Keep an eye on that phoenix, will you? That reckless thing might cause trouble again."
"Yes, Mr. Taro," Jarvis replied.
The necklace worn by the phoenix had been custom-made to house a device that could connect with Jarvis and the Virtual Earth Network. Most available models only came in wristband, helmet, or full immersion capsule formats. For something custom like a necklace... that had taken some effort. Since the phoenix couldn't wear a wristband or helmet, Hathaway had designed the necklace just for it.
With Jarvis providing real-time maps, the phoenix could roam the Earth freely, always in search of delicious or exotic animals to eat—never fearing to get lost. Over the years, it often went on solo adventures. Hathaway sometimes thought that if the phoenix and Jarvis had interstellar capabilities, the bird would've been gallivanting across the galaxy by now.
Taro gave a slight nod, and in the blink of an eye, vanished.

Taro reappeared in West City, hovering above the luxurious estate of Dr. Briefs and his family, headquarters of the Capsule Corporation.
The wind howled around him.
The flood of modern electromagnetic signals ignored him completely, as though he were just another invisible wisp of air. This was a new type of magic he had developed after many discussions with Jarvis—one that cloaked a person from all current Earth-based surveillance technologies. Unlike the energy-intensive concealment spell he once used on Planet One, this one required far less power and could run continuously for a full twenty-four hours.
Holding the altered Dragon embroidery in his hand, Taro scanned the sprawling complex below, his gaze shifting rapidly to select the most suitable location... Soon, having locked onto one visually, his figure vanished once more in midair.
---
By the time Taro returned to Bulma and the others, no one was particularly surprised anymore. Disappear, reappear, disappear again—after witnessing it so often, it just became part of the norm. Dr. and Mrs. Briefs were both rather easygoing people; perhaps that's how they'd ended up together in the first place.
Bulma, however, remained fascinated by Taro's abilities. She bounced over to him and tilted her head up to ask, "Grandpa, Grandpa! Just now, when you went BIU and vanished—where did you go? Did you go see Grandma Ninn again?"
She gestured with her hands, mimicking what she thought a BIU moment looked like.
"Nope, but it was someplace far away," Hathaway answered, smiling as she reached down to pinch Bulma's cheeks. She could tell Taro had returned home for something, but what exactly had he done in that short span of time? And what did the Dragon embroidery she'd stitched during idle moments have to do with Goku's so-called 'opportunity'?
So mysterious... Hathaway found it amusing.
"Mmh! Ah wan' do i' too..." Bulma mumbled, cheeks still being pinched, her little hands clasped around Hathaway's fingers as her big eyes blinked up at Taro. "I wan' BIU... okay?"
In her little heart, she thought—if she could BIU around the world, maybe she could BIU right to that little monkey boy! Where was he now? Had he lost the match and was sadly eating something somewhere?
Hathaway was surprised. "Little girl, why do you want to learn that?"
Bulma rolled her eyes mischievously. "'Cause it's fun!"
She definitely wasn't going to admit it was to prank that little monkey.
Taro shook his head. "It's very difficult to learn."
Even the elder of Planet Yardrat couldn't grasp it despite his personal instruction, and his son had only managed to pick up a watered-down version of Instant Transmission...
"Ah, space-time jumping technology..." Dr. Briefs overheard them and muttered thoughtfully while puffing on a cigarette. His greatest invention, the Capsule, utilized space-folding tech, so he was no stranger to such fields. Hearing Taro and Bulma's conversation sparked something in his mind.
Bulma pouted. She raised her hand and declared, "Don't underestimate me! I'm a genius!"
"Yes yes, genius, little genius scientist Miss Bulma, right?" Hathaway coaxed her, making the little girl beam with pride.
She'd already overheard her father chatting with Hathaway and learned just how amazing her Grandma Ninn's grandma was—a legendary female scientist. (Though in truth, Hathaway had already introduced herself on their first meeting, but Bulma hadn't understood back then.) So being praised by her felt better than a thousand compliments from boys at school.
"What a simple little girl..." Hathaway thought with a smile. Noticing Taro also watching Bulma, she leaned over and whispered with a playful grin, "I wonder what kind of boy she'll end up with someday..."
But then she noticed the odd expression on her husband's face—a knowing smile playing on his lips.
Goku's opportunity...
The Dragon...
Her embroidery...

Suddenly, it all clicked. With a laugh, she lightly slapped Taro and whispered, "Don't tell me—you just..."
"Shh, it's a secret," Taro replied with a grin.
Bulma tilted her head, puzzled. Still, deep inside, she felt a tinge of envy. Grandpa Taro and Grandma Hathaway were so sweet together. Someday, she wanted to find a prince who'd treat her like that, too... Heehee.
And her mind drifted back to Goku.
Then, to their awkward first meeting...
Ugh, it had been so embarrassing!
Pouting and squinting, little Bulma began wrestling with her own tangled thoughts, while the grown-ups around her chuckled in amusement.
