Don't confiscate my identity as a human race-Chapter 1325 - 829: Cat Boss, Fall In!_3
"Meow?"
The Little Black Cat let out a confused meow as it threaded its way through the crowded throng, trying to look for Tolyado.
There was no time to worry about the queue now; the priority was to find the companion who had vanished into thin air in the blink of an eye.
It quickly pulled out its Communication Magic and started calling Tolyado.
In less than two seconds, the communication connected.
"Meow meow, Xido, where did you go, meow!"
The Cat Boss asked with concern.
Getting through the communication was a huge relief for it.
"I’ll come back for you later."
Tolyado replied in a lowered voice before quickly hanging up.
"..."
The Cat Boss stared at the Communication Magic Card in bewilderment.
Tolyado may have run into something urgent and had to leave; judging from his tone, it didn’t sound dangerous.
Tolyado would likely have no trouble finding the Cat Boss, but the Cat Boss wouldn’t be able to easily track down someone as mysterious as Tolyado.
So in times like this, the best option was to stay put and wait for Tolyado to return.
The Cat Boss figured it out.
But worse still, several passersby noticed it was on its own and began reaching out, trying to pet it.
"Meow meow, I’m not a stray cat!"
The Cat Boss dodged frantically, a nameless sense of unease rising in its heart.
"Holy crap, did that cat just talk?"
"Must be someone with Catman Clan transformation powers, right?"
"Could also be a student or teacher from the academy!"
"Who cares, right now it’s just a cat—born to be gobbled up by Mommy!"
Their shouts only made the crowd more eager to pet it.
"Meow?!"
The Cat Boss turned tail and bolted.
A noble Divine Beast like itself was absolutely not meant to be treated as a mere pet.
Moments later, the Little Black Cat finally escaped the crowd and leapt onto the stone stairs at the far end of the plaza.
"No idea how long I’ll have to wait for him, meow."
It tilted its head in thought for a moment.
Its gaze unconsciously drifted toward the barbecue stalls.
Maybe returning to its original spot would make it easier for Tolyado to find it.
But who knew where Tolyado had rushed off to? Sitting here waiting, the tempting aroma of grilled barbecue kept tickling the Cat Boss’s nose, making it crave food terribly.
Yet if it queued up alone, it would undoubtedly be mistaken for a pet, drawing a lot of unnecessary trouble.
"What do I do now, meow."
The Little Black Cat raised its paw and scratched its ear in frustration.
It was beginning to regret coming out with Tolyado.
Lanci had never abandoned it like this, and Tolyado was gone in the blink of an eye—quicker than Xiu Bao even.
Suddenly, inspiration struck it—
Once transformed, wouldn’t things feel natural?
Then it could queue up openly, without being mistaken for a lost kitten!
It happened to have a [Transformation Magic: Human] card that Lanci once gave it as a backup.
Originally, the card went unused during its outing with Elsa, but now it would finally come in handy!
"..."
"I’ll sneakily transform this one time, meow."
With that thought, the Cat Boss nimbly leapt down the stairs and circled to a secluded corner near the back of the plaza.
It was somewhat reluctant to turn into a two-legged, human-like form, but for the sake of grilled fish, it decided to make an exception just this once.
The Cat Boss closed its eyes and lightly tapped the purple translucent Magic Card floating before it with its paw.
In an instant, its fur began to glow faintly, creating a soft radiance, and its figure gradually blurred.
After a few seconds.
The light dissipated, and in the spot where the cat had been stood a slender and well-proportioned figure, about 1.4 meters tall, looking to be around ten years old.
Its clever cat ears atop its head twitched lightly, and its black tail swayed contentedly behind it.
"Meow meow meow, is this me?"
The Cat Boss opened its mouth and spoke in its usual childish voice, gazing down at its reflection in the marble tiles of the plaza.
Its physique teetered between boyish and girlish, with sleek black short hair, slightly long bangs occasionally brushing over its eyes, and a face soft and delicate, still carrying a hint of youthful innocence. Its appearance exuded the ambiguous charm of a ten-year-old wondering at gender identity.
A mix of tomboyish impishness and a pretty boy’s allure.
It wore a white shirt paired with a brown vest and polished leather shoes—the kid-sized replica of Lanci’s oft-worn outfit.
"In human terms, wouldn’t I be considered somewhat good-looking, meow?"
The Cat Boss inspected its new form, touching its tender cheeks, and for a moment felt as though it could already taste the aroma of grilled fish wafting from afar.
The only puzzling part was why the transformation didn’t turn it fully human, but rather into a creature resembling a demi-human or beast-kin.
Perhaps it was because Lanci and Hyperion experienced minimal mass changes when using [Transformation Magic: Human], whereas its transformation required a larger adjustment, leading to this outcome.
But there was nothing to worry about.
The Cerryti Empire actually had plenty of Orcs.
When the lands of Cerryti were unified, Seross Empire was almost entirely human, Elseya Holy Domain had some elf descendants and rare species, while Vensi Free Federation held territories ruled by both human Lords and Orc Lords.
Though humans constituted the vast majority after unification, it wasn’t unusual to see individuals with beast-like traits or pointed ears both on the streets and among the nobility of Cerryti.
The Cat Boss had even seen Orc students during Lanci’s lectures.
The more it thought about it, the more at ease it felt.
The tempting aroma of barbecue made its belly rumble audibly.
Transformed into human form, it could eat way more food than before—it wouldn’t be shackled by the constraints of its tiny bird-like appetite anymore!
Swallowing its drool, the Cat Boss secretly vowed to feast to its heart’s content and make the trip worthwhile.
It set off confidently toward the end of the queue.
Grilled fish, here it comes!
Just as it was stepping away from the edge of the plaza.
"Oh, what an adorable Catman Clan child, meow—you got separated from your grown-up, didn’t you?"
