Devilish secretary-Chapter 346 Investor
Chapter 346: Chapter 346 Investor
"Sorry..." Alexander whispered, his forehead resting softly against hers, his hands still firm around her waist. "I couldn’t watch you in another man’s arms. You have no idea how much I had to control myself..."
Lilith touched his cheek, her fingers gently tracing the edge of his jaw.
"It’s okay," she said with a small smile. "I understand. It was just a scene... the only one that was close with him. Nothing more."
Alexander exhaled, his chest rising and falling slowly. His sharp features finally softened, that tight edge around his eyes melting as he looked at her.
She tugged him gently by the wrist, leading him toward the bed like it was the most natural thing in the world.
"How’s Sir Sparkleton?" she asked softly, sitting on the edge and looking at him with curious eyes.
Alexander sat beside her, resting one arm behind her on the mattress.
"He’s good," he said with a shrug. "You’ll have him back soon. He’s been waiting for you."
Lilith’s eyes shone immediately.
But Alexander smirked. "That’s funny. Weren’t you the one who hated him?"
Lilith gave him a half-annoyed, half-amused glance. "I still do," she said dryly.
Then her voice softened. "But... he reminds me of you."
Alexander raised an eyebrow. "Oh, so he remind you of me? That’s flattering."
She let out a small laugh.
But just as the warmth was building, his voice dropped, calmer, deeper.
"Just like how that skeleton used to remind you of your father?"
Lilith froze.
Her smile faded, her gaze lowering. Her fingers slightly tightened on the bedsheet.
She had been doing better.
She had started living without him–her skeleton buddy, the one that stayed by her side through centuries of ruling hell. She used to sleep beside it every single night. She wasn’t able to close her eyes without its bones near her hand, its cold touch reminding her she was never alone.
But now...
She had stopped looking for it.
She had started sleeping in silence.
She didn’t even realize it until now.
Alexander noticed the shift in her silence, the tiny pause in her breath. His hand slid gently over hers.
"I didn’t mean to hurt you," he said quietly.
Lilith shook her head. "You didn’t."
"I think it’s best to let go..." Lilith whispered, her voice calm, but there was something deep behind her words like she was saying goodbye to something invisible inside her.
Alexander nodded slowly, his eyes still on her. He didn’t push, didn’t ask what exactly she meant.
But then, after a moment of silence, he spoke again—this time gently.
"...Lili, can you tell me about your father? Or your mother? Only if you’re ready."
Lilith didn’t answer right away.
She looked down, her eyes distant, lost in thought. Something flickered across her face.
Alexander noticed the change and immediately said, "I’m sorry... I shouldn’t have asked. Forget it."
But Lilith looked up and smiled faintly.
She shook her head.
"It’s alright," she said softly. "I’ll tell you about them... just not today."
Her voice was quiet, but sure.
And Alexander nodded with understanding. "Whenever you’re ready." freёweɓnovel.com
The moment passed like a breeze.
After that, the atmosphere grew lighter. Lilith lay back on the bed, arms folded behind her head, and Alexander followed, stretching beside her.
"I’m still clueless how you suddenly became the investor of the whole project, Mr. Carter," Lilith said, narrowing her eyes with a teasing smirk as she turned her head toward him.
Alexander chuckled, leaning back against the pillows. "Well... that wasn’t exactly me."
Lilith raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
He laughed softly, his hand running through his hair. "It was Darkness. He’s the one who did it."
Lilith stared at him for a moment. "Wait... so now every personality in you has a profession too?"
Alexander grinned. "Apparently."
He held up his fingers and started listing them off.
"I manage the company’s operations, meetings, all the day-to-day business stuff. Gray? He handles hotel management and decision maker...."
Lilith’s eyes lit with interest.
"And Ray," Alexander continued, "he’s all about gadgets. AI, robotics, anything he can build or take apart. He once tried to install a talking alarm clock that only woke me up with cartoons and candy sounds."
Lilith snorted, already picturing it.
"And Darkness," he said with a smirk, "turns out he has a real gift for stocks, investments, crypto—basically anything related to money. We were all surprised. He doesn’t say much, but when he does... it’s usually about numbers that make our heads spin."
Lilith tilted her head, amused. "So, he’s the mysterious genius in finance?"
Alexander sighed. "Yeah. We just nod and let him do his thing. He somehow made us all richer without even telling us what he was doing."
They talked for hours but eventually, Alexander’s voice began to slow. His words grew softer, fading between long blinks and small sighs. He leaned his head back against the pillow, eyes fluttering shut for a few seconds at a time.
Lilith turned her head, watching him.
And just like that... he drifted off.
Peacefully.
His chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm, his features relaxed.
Her fingers twitched as if wanting to touch his cheek, but she held back. Instead, she reached forward and gently pulled the blanket up to his shoulder, tucking it quietly around him.

Next day Lilith didn’t have much scenes, and rest of the day she spent at the ESE Production House.
She walked around, checked all departments, and made sure everything was going fast but still good.
She didn’t like laziness in work.
She helped the team to create story engine, gave her own inputs, and even corrected few things in script.
Everyone respected her words.
Her human doll was busy with business. He had just opened his new branch and was handling everything alone.
He didn’t message her that day. Didn’t call either.
But she understood.
He was tired.
And just like that... her life started becoming busy too.
She was either on set, or at the ESE production house, or discussing something with the team.
Day by day, her routine was slowly filling up.
And strangely, she didn’t hate it.
