Devilish secretary-Chapter 342 Why didn’t you tell me about this lab?
Chapter 342: Chapter 342 Why didn’t you tell me about this lab?
"Relax," Alexander said firmly, his voice calm but urgent as he gently pulled a mask over Lilith’s face.
Before she could even argue, he crouched down and carefully lifted Sir Sparkleton into his arms, holding the robot’s weight like it was nothing. The worry in Lilith’s eyes didn’t go unnoticed by him, but he didn’t say anything more.
"Let’s go," he said instead, nodding toward the door.
Lilith stood still for a second, her fingers curling slightly as she looked back at the silent robot in Alexander’s arms. Her chest felt tight, but she knew this wasn’t the time to panic.
Without another word, she grabbed her keys and followed him, quickly locking the door behind her.
Alexander placed Sir Sparkleton in the back seat of his car with surprising care, then opened the passenger side for Lilith. She got in quietly, glancing back at her robot, the silence inside the car feeling heavier than ever.
As Alexander started the engine, he glanced at her. "We’ll fix him," he said softly, almost like a promise.
Lilith didn’t answer, but her eyes stayed locked on Sparkleton.
When Alexander brought her to the private Ray Tech Lab, Lilith’s eyes instantly sharpened, a flicker of recognition dancing beneath her lashes.
Bright, sterile lights illuminated the sleek metallic interiors. The sound of soft hums and mechanical whirs filled the air as engineers moved in calm rhythm across different stations. Holographic panels floated above work tables, and robotic arms performed delicate adjustments with swift precision.
Lilith scanned everything carefully.
It was too advanced—this wasn’t just a regular tech lab. It was something more.
People moved around them, but no one looked shocked to see Alexander enter. In fact, most barely spared him a glance. What caught their attention, however, was the woman at his side. Covered in a white hoodie and mask, with her long hair tucked back, Lilith stood like a mystery among them.
Their curious glances followed her as she walked beside him. Who was she? Why did she look so familiar?
But Lilith ignored the silent whispers, her eyes moving across each corner like she was memorizing the layout.
Alexander led Lilith into a private diagnostics office tucked behind reinforced glass walls. As the automated doors slid open with a soft hiss, bright white lights flooded the room, reflecting off the sterile, high-gloss surfaces.
The space was sleek modern, quietly humming with ambient machine activity. A massive glass-topped diagnostic counter sat at the center, embedded with touch-sensitive panels, real-time data scanners, and neural frequency readers. Holographic monitors hovered above, flickering softly with lines of encrypted code and blinking indicators.
Alexander stepped forward and gently placed Sir Sparkleton on the center console. The table reacted immediately scanning lasers slid across the robot’s body, casting pale blue lines over his metallic shell as internal diagnostics began initializing.
Lilith stood still, her gaze fixed on the setup as she took off her mask. Every surface around her glowed with tech brilliance, heat sensors, AI memory extractors, microchip pulse testers. The room wasn’t just a lab... it was a blend of robotics, neuroscience, and experimental AI all in one.
And when she looked at him again, his personality had changed—it was Ray now. freēnovelkiss.com
"Miss Mystery, don’t worry," Ray said cheerfully as he pulled a wheeled stool closer to the diagnostics table. "Baby Sparkleton is just taking a nap. A dramatic one."
Lilith raised an eyebrow, but couldn’t help the faint smile curling on her lips. She watched him work, quick hands that moved with precision, tapping codes directly into a neural interface glove while his other hand adjusted a micro-tool near Sir Sparkleton’s chest panel.
"So... Ray," she said slowly, her voice soft but with that usual bite of curiosity, "you’re the secretive owner of Ray Tech Lab?"
Ray’s fingers paused for just a second before he ducked his head bashfully, cheeks blooming pink. "W-Well, I wouldn’t say owner. It’s just my name on the door," he mumbled. "I mean, I’m not that good."
Lilith tilted her head, observing him closely, her eyes sharp and amused. "You developed one of the most advanced emotional AI chips in the country and built a robot that knows how to fold my laundry better than I do. Don’t be modest."
Ray giggled nervously, his voice dropping to a shy mumble. "He also sings lullabies when no one’s watching..."
Lilith’s smirk deepened.
Just then, the system on the console beeped and projected a hologram of Sparkleton’s AI core. A 3D spinning sphere displayed layers of memory sectors, color-coded emotional links, and active thought threads.
"System scan complete," the robotic voice chimed.
"See? All his memory threads are still here," Ray said, pointing to one flickering section. "There’s just a loop running in his empathy processor. Probably overloaded from trying to figure out something...."
Then he adjusted a dial and gently murmured, "Don’t worry, little guy... we’re rebooting your personality file now. You’ll be dancing again by morning."
"Alright, let him rest now," Ray said with a light laugh, brushing imaginary dust off Sir Sparkleton’s metal chest. "He’s still in a tech coma—don’t worry, he’ll wake up with his usual sass."
He leaned closer and whispered with a mischievous grin, "And between us, I’ve also been working on a Miss Sparkleton for him..." He trailed off, muttering something in Spanish under his breath, which sounded suspiciously flirty.
Lilith narrowed her eyes, half-amused, half-curious, even though she knew what he said. "What did you just say?"
Ray flashed an innocent smile. "Nothing... nothing!"
He grabbed his lab coat and gestured toward the hallway. "Come on, let me show you the place before I get shy again."
As they walked through the sleek corridor lit by soft blue lights, Lilith glanced at the polished doors they passed, each marked with strange acronyms, tech names, and glowing seals. Robotic limbs were being calibrated on one side, holograms dancing in mid-air on the other. Every room buzzed with energy and brilliant chaos.
Finally, she asked quietly, "Why didn’t you tell me about this lab?"
Ray looked up from the tablet in his hands and blinked.
"...Well," he said, his voice softening, "you didn’t ask me."
Lilith raised an eyebrow.
"And..." he added, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, "I don’t get that much time with you, you know? So whenever I do, I kinda forget the world outside of you exists."
Lilith didn’t answer right away.
But her steps slowed just a little, and her expression softened like something inside her chest had warmed without warning.
