Devilish secretary-Chapter 340 Strange boy
Chapter 340: Chapter 340 Strange boy
Lilith stepped out of her car, She pulled off her black cap and lowered her mask, the cold air brushing against her cheeks as she headed toward the ESE production building. It was located far on the outskirts of the city, away from traffic, noise, and too many curious eyes.
She missed this quiet.
She missed a lot of things.
Especially her human doll. It had been two weeks since his birthday—two full weeks without hearing his voice in person, without feeling his arms around her, or sharing warm food with him. Every night she held her phone, thinking about calling... but stopped herself. Work had become too demanding, and so had the spotlight.
Ever since that viral video, she couldn’t even walk down a street without someone secretly recording her. Content creators waited outside cafes, by hotel doors, and near film sets. They wanted another cold reply, another meme, another trend. It was suffocating.
She swiped her ID card at the door and entered the lab facility. People inside turned their heads when they saw her, but there were no camera flashes here—only respect and nods of acknowledgment. She had come here often. This place was different. It smelled like fresh wires and warm circuits.
"Miss Lilith," several engineers greeted her as she entered the main workspace.
She gave a small smile and nodded back. Her eyes scanned the equipment as she stepped closer to the main desk where a few senior engineers were standing. One of them– tall, sharp-jawed, and dressed in a navy-blue turtleneck under his lab coat turned toward her with a slight bow.
"The wearable headsets are ready," he said, gesturing toward a neatly lined-up set on the table. "We’ve installed the Emotion AI Core chip. It can now read and respond to subtle shifts in brainwaves especially when linked to immersive audio."
Lilith’s gaze moved toward the chip panels. Sleek. Compact. Functional. She nodded slightly. "And the Neural Sensor Layer?"
"Sent out for fabrication at Ray Labs," the man replied.
Her eyebrows arched slightly. "Ray Labs?"
Another engineer nearby chimed in, "Yes, Miss Lilith. Ray Tech Labs—they’re handling neural-based tech this year. Robotics, sensory coding, neuro-data interpretation. Quite specialized."
Lilith’s jaw tensed slightly. Ray Labs... Ray.
"I see," she said quietly, then turned toward the design monitor showing some early code logs. "And the real-time adaptive story engine?"
"Yes," the tall guy replied. "You mentioned you’d personally help oversee the writing-simulation layer for character reactions. Our AI system is learning, but it still lacks the narrative instinct. When do you think you’ll be free to start testing with us?"
Lilith exhaled, brushing a few strands of hair behind her ear.
"I want to start next week. Maybe sooner. I need to finalize a few scenes from my current shoot. But I’ll bring my own notes, drafts, and response condition maps. Also... let’s keep neural mapping subtle. I don’t want over-simulation to confuse the user."
"Yes, of course," he nodded quickly. "We’ll prepare a controlled setup. And if you want, we can reroute the neural data for you to review privately."
"Do that," she said, softer now. Her mind was elsewhere. Ray Labs.
The silence stretched a bit as the engineers returned to work, and Lilith stood there for a moment, staring at the Emotion Chip, its smooth curve glowing faintly under the lab lights. Her thoughts drifted to Ray.
After observing the progress in the lab, Lilith quietly left and returned to her car. As she sat behind the wheel, she began searching for Ray Tech Lab. The company’s owner was shrouded in mystery, there was no official information available, no name, no photo.
But Lilith knew.
It had to be Ray.
And deep down, she also suspected something else Ray might be the one who created Sir Sparkleton.
However, she decided not to assume anything yet. She would confirm it herself by meeting Ray face to face.
Lilith returned to her hotel, walking through the entrance while checking something on her phone. Just as she turned a corner near the hallway, someone suddenly bumped into her shoulder.
"Ah! Sorry-sorry!" a boyish voice said quickly.
Lilith looked up, slightly startled. A young man with messy Dark hair and big nervous eyes stood in front of her, waving both hands in panic.
"Hehehe... hi!" he said with a guilty grin. "I—I didn’t see... I was not looking!"
Lilith raised an eyebrow, clearly not impressed.
"I’m fine," she said flatly, brushing her coat.
The boy clasped his hands together and bowed his head. "I sorry to you... you okay, yes? You not hurt?"
Lilith looked at him more carefully now. He had an innocent face, maybe in his early twenties, and he wore a jacket that was too big for him. His accent was heavy, and his words were broken, but sincere.
"You’re... not from here, are you?" she asked, curious.
"Ah—no, no! I come... months ago!" he said quickly. "Many time city. I’m Asher," he added, pointing at himself.
Lilith nodded slowly. "Alright, Asher. Next time, walk with your eyes open."
"Y-Yes! I promise! Big eyes open!" he said, making wide circles around his eyes with his fingers.
Lilith almost smiled.
"Good. Then don’t cause more trouble," she said, turning to walk away.
But Asher stepped forward again, holding out a chocolate bar from his coat pocket.
"Gift! For... bumping! Peace treat!" he said, offering it to her.
Lilith stared at the bar, then at him. "You think chocolate is enough for crashing into me?"
Asher blinked. "Maybe... two chocolates?"
Lilith took the bar from his hand and walked away without another word.
Asher stood frozen for a moment... then broke into a happy grin. "She take it...! She not hate me!"
And Lilith, who had already turned the corner, shook her head lightly.
What a strange boy.
As soon as Lilith disappeared around the corner, Asher froze for one second... and then—jumped.
"Yesss!" he whispered loudly, pumping both fists in the air like he’d just won the lottery. His eyes sparkled with pure joy, and he started hopping in place, his coat bouncing with him.
He looked at his hand as if it were magic. "she take from this hand," he said proudly to no one. "Good hand. Lucky hand!"
A couple of hotel staff passing by looked at him strangely, but Asher didn’t even notice. He spun in a slow circle, then hugged himself tightly.
