Cultivation is just so scientific!-Chapter 519 - 306: The Ancestor
Ancestor Lu was likewise feeling rather gloomy; he had just entered seclusion and had yet to delve into deep cultivation when he was roused by the sect.
Such occurrences were rare, indeed—events that would disturb a Nascent Soul Ancestor on the Beishu Continent were exceedingly uncommon.
Typically, Golden Core cultivators were more than capable of handling general affairs.
Yet, concerning an instance with a False Infant powerhouse, every major sect had to have a Nascent Soul Ancestor ready for immediate action. The other Nascent Soul Ancestors of the Senluo Sect had entered deep cultivation, and it was also Ancestor Lu’s turn for duty, so the sect woke him up.
Therefore, at least until he received confirmed news from Supervisor Feng Yi, Ancestor Lu could not re-enter seclusion for cultivation.
Though he felt considerable irritation, when an external Nascent Soul Ancestor attempted an invasion, he still chose to observe.
Battles among Nascent Soul Ancestors should be avoided if possible; it was only that Patriarch Weng Zhao and the Fourth-grade Sea Beast encountered each other at sea and engaged in combat.
If Patriarch Weng Zhao dared to initiate a Nascent Soul level battle on the mainland, he would then face the united efforts of all the Patriarchs from the six major sects, ready to exterminate him.
The destructive power unleashed in a Nascent Soul Ancestor’s battle would cause irreparable harm to the land; only those with sworn deadly feuds would resort to such actions.
Ancestor Lu sensed that Patriarch Weng Zhao’s presence had vanished. He sent a distant message to the Fourth-grade Sea Beast, by way of greeting.
Withdrawing his mind, he sensed Li Yuanba and also noted that Li Yuanba had formed his Golden Core. The bad mood that had plagues him suddenly lifted.
"Yuan Ba, you’ve formed your Golden Core!" he said, laughing as he passed through the Sect Formation to where Li Yuanba was.
His clearance was naturally the highest, and all Sect Formations would open for him.
"I have seen Ancestor!" Li Yuanba hurriedly stepped forward to greet him.
As for He Wei and Liu Gang, they bowed their heads, not daring to look at Ancestor Lu’s true face, and only addressed him as "Ancestor," saying nothing else.
That was normal; in the sect, the Golden Core cultivators who had a private audience with a Nascent Soul Ancestor were few. A Nascent Soul Ancestor was the foundation of the sect, and it was rare for them to leave seclusion and walk among others for hundreds of years.
Ancestor Lu paid no attention to the two Golden Core cultivators; his eyes saw only Li Yuanba, his direct disciple.
Of course, he was overjoyed. It had not been long since he gave the resources for forming the Golden Core, hoping that Li Yuanba would succeed within several decades.
Unexpectedly, after just a few years, upon their reunion, Li Yuanba had already become a Golden Core cultivator, and judging by his aura, he was stable at the Golden Core Early Stage, in no way inferior to Golden Core cultivators who had cultivated for more than a decade.
"Good, good, it seems that your master’s lineage will indeed be carried forward!" Ancestor Lu said with gratified mirth.
Li Yuanba invited Ancestor Lu to sit on one side, while He Wei and Liu Gang knew there was nothing for them here, and with a bow, they took their leave.
"I must also thank the ancestor for your timely rescue!" Li Yuanba bowed in gratitude.
"Even if I hadn’t come, you would have been fine; however, witnessing your research on formations opened my eyes!" Li Yuanba’s advancement to Golden Core cultivator caused Ancestor Lu to hold this disciple in even higher regard, and he spoke with increased affection.
"I take a great interest in formations, so I have conducted more research!" Li Yuanba replied modestly.
Since his true self, Li Shiming, attained the title of Array Master, Li Yuanba had shared in Li Shiming’s knowledge of formations and insights. Although he lacked the aid of the Array Formation Starlight Sea, he could call upon Li Shiming’s Array Formation Starlight Sea and IBMz15 at any time, practically equating him to an Array Master.
These details he did not share with Ancestor Lu; the formation capabilities he had already displayed were quite astonishing enough.
"Though I do not practice the way of the Sword Cultivator, I don’t agree with your master’s approach to focusing solely on swordsmanship, excluding all else. Observing your Sword Intent, you haven’t fallen behind in the way of the Sword Cultivator, and you’ve even managed to study formations in addition. You must forge your own path!" Ancestor Lu nodded slightly as he spoke.
These were words that perhaps should not have come from him, as he had always disagreed with the philosophy of Elder Jian.
A traditional Nascent Soul Ancestor would explore various skills essential to a cultivator’s survival.
However, Elder Jian was a practitioner of the sword, confronting all troubles with the belief that "one sword could break ten thousand spells."
Ancestor Lu knew all too well the saying "what is too rigid is easily broken," yet Elder Jian was a stubborn traditional Sword Cultivator, persisting in his own beliefs.
Unable to persuade his own disciple, he could only offer guidance to his grand-disciple, hoping to prevent him from taking unnecessary detours.
In truth, neither Elder Jian nor Ancestor Lu was wrong; different philosophies would cultivate different cultivators.
Pure Sword Cultivators, for the most part, fall along their path, and the philosophy of "one sword breaks ten thousand spells" becomes helpless against an overwhelmingly powerful enemy.
Li Yuanba was a Sword Cultivator. Though he practiced many arts beyond swordsmanship, his Sword Intent remained sharp due to multiple instances where he had slain enemies far superior to him; forging a Sword Intent that far exceeded that of ordinary Sword Cultivators.
"Yes, Ancestor. How fares my master?" Li Yuanba, hearing Ancestor Lu mention his master Elder Jian, couldn’t help but ask with concern.
"His situation is still normal; forming the Nascent Soul is not something that happens overnight!" Ancestor Lu replied with a smile, then changed the subject, "Ten Thousand Sword Peak was refined into an artifact by you, and I had already discussed this with your master. He is too stubborn, refusing to wield any artifact other than his Lifebound Flying Sword. That’s what led to such coveting from those juniors within the sect. You did well; Ten Thousand Sword Peak is the heritage treasure of your lineage, how could it possibly fall into the hands of others!"
