Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 37: Truth About the Past
Chapter 37: Truth About the Past
Lily was surprised to hear that some one of her own blood would just take her away from her parents. "Why would he do that?" The Goddess could see the confusion on her daughters face. "Jealousy. You see, he was supposed to be my mate. It had been arrange long ago by the old gods before our generation took over. He was a bit older then me, having watched me grow in my mother then saw as I entered this world, knowing I would one day be his mate." Lily sat listening intently having been curious about her origins ever since she was a young child.
"Then as I grew older he one day told me that we would be together forever which at the time made me very happy. He was kind and handsome with similar features to my own. We looked a perfect match. He was the one person in this world that I wanted by my side always. That was until I met your father, and he was beautiful. Long silver hair streaked with blue, eyes just like yours always changing with his mood. And...." Her mother hesitated afraid to her daughter the next part.
"What? It sounds to me like my father was a handsome man/god. What is it that you don’t wish to tell me?" Lily wondered why her mother would hold back. "Well....ah..he had...blue scales similar to your dragon prince. A few shades darker, but no less brilliant." The shocked expression on Lily’s face said it all. Of course she would be like her mother and fall for a dragon.
"How did.....Why did I......You have got to be f*cking kidding me!" Her mother chuckled at her antics knowing how ridiculous it sounded. "Dragons mate for life and when they find their chosen mate they tend to covet them fiercely. My brother saw this as a selfish act and tried to take me away with him. At the time I was pregnant with you and my brother said we would raise you together. Of course I wanted to raise you with my mate and told him as much. He had such a frightening look on his face." Lily could empathize with her mother since she had almost lost her mate to misunderstandings. The Goddess stood up looking out over the landscape trying to steady herself.
"At that moment your father was out watching over his people when I went into labor with you. My brother, though frustrated, held my hand the whole time encouraging me as you came into this world. But when I asked him to hand you to me, he ignored me and walked around the room speaking to you softly. I just thought he was being a happy uncle until I fell asleep from exhaustion and woke up later to both of you gone." Lily’s heart sank realizing what he had done the one thing that would hurt her mother more then anything.
Standing up Lily walks over to her mother wrapping her arms around her. Lily held her mother for a moment hoping she would feel the realness of Lily holding her. "Did you ever catch up to him?" The goddess stepped back as Lily released her. "No, but he has strong influence over the current Wolf Clan. Like me, he can choose to go to your realm once ever 25 years. And that’s what he did. I have looked for him, but he has blocked me from seeing him."
Lily wondered if she could find him before the next winter solstice when she would take him back for justice to be served. "What about my father? Is he still alive?" The goddess tucked a stray hair behind Lily’s ear finding the words to tell her the truth. "Yes, he is still alive. After you were taken he immediately went in search of you looking every where in the godly realm. Unfortunately he has limitations too and can only cross the over here ever 25 years as well. So he has been stuck over there ever since you were lost."
Lily wondered if she had ever met him before as curious thought came to mind. He had always protected her and helped her when she needed it most. Never thinking twice about why he would help her Lily was almost sure of who it might be. "Do I know him?" The Goddess nodded yes moving to take her seat again watching her daughter piece together the clues. "It can’t be..." Lily was having a hard time wrapping her head around who her father might be.
Lily looked to her mother who was smiling as her thoughts came out her mouth. "Professor Magnus? Really?" "Yes. In fact it was a smart move for him to go because there had already been problems with the Dragon Clan. Certain things can only be fixed by a god and making sure you fully matured and came into your own was important to him after he found you."
There was still something bothering her about her uncle. "If your brother wanted to hurt you so much why not just kill me?" "He knew that killing a god would make him mortal. He still wanted to come back one day." Lily could see the hurt on her mothers face from her uncles betrayal. "So who is my uncle anyway? I’ve met most of the important wolves of the Clan."
The Goddess took a while to answer as she knew it would hurt Lily to the core once she revealed his identity. "The man who is your uncle is...."

Lily was rudely woken up hearing banging on Dimitri’s bedroom door. Still half asleep she looks around to see no Dimitri and a bright son shining through the windows. Pulling on a robe she walks to the door turning the lock opening the door to see a most unwanted face. The dragon queen was waiting on the other side with a line of servant behind her. Marching in the servant went about setting out cosmetics, shoes, dresses, and other accessories she might like.
"My mate has informed me that you are now a princess of the Dragon Clan. It is my duty to make sure you are seen as the picture of elegance and grace. While I may not like your background my impertinent son has chosen you as his mate. Now we must make you look the part." Clapping her hands the servants circled her grabbing her arms guiding her to a seat.
"Time to make you into a perfect dragon princess."
