Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 202: Joker & Light
Chapter 202: Chapter 202: Joker & Light
Aurora returned home with a frustrated expression.
"That was... absolutely ridiculous," she muttered, flinging her coat over a nearby chair. "What is wrong with people today?"
She poured herself a glass of water and took a long sip, trying to cool her nerves. But the frustration lingered like static under her skin.
With a long sigh, Aurora walked into the personal study and sat down at her computer.
It was night, and all the members of the Waters family were already asleep.
The multi-monitor setup blinked to life, the familiar glow soothing her more than any tea or music could.
"I should...just hack into some accounts to steam off," Aurora muttered.
It didn’t take long before she found it.
Joker.
Her fingers paused as the name lit up her screen.
Aurora had seen his alias pop up in a few dark forums, a name whispered in digital corners, usually connected with blackmail, leaked photos, and extortion.
Her jaw tightened.
Joker had built a sick empire, targeting vulnerable girls, hacking their phones, stealing private photos, and then threatening them for money.
And he’d gotten away with it for months.
Not tonight.
"Let’s see if you will have the last laugh today, Joker," she said coldly, and began typing.
.................
Somewhere across town...
A teenage girl sat curled up on her bed in a tiny, dimly lit room. The buzzing of her old phone echoed in the silence.
Her hand trembled as she reached for it.
[ANONYMOUS: 1 new message]
She swallowed hard and tapped it open.
JOKER: "You didn’t send the money. I told you $500 by tonight. Now I’ll post your pics on your school forum."
Attached was a picture—one of the private ones he had stolen. The girl’s face paled. She clutched her phone so tightly her knuckles turned white.
Tears welled up in her eyes, but they didn’t fall. She’d cried too much already.
"I don’t have $500," she whispered. "I don’t have anything left..."
For months, this man had bled her dry. Every penny she saved, every piece of jewelry she could pawn—$4000 gone into a black hole of silence and shame. She’d tried to block him. He always found a way back.
She had once thought of going to the police, but his threats were terrifying.
"Try that, and your pics go live. Cops? Friends? Family? Doesn’t matter. You call anyone and I’ll make sure you’re humiliated forever."
And now, as she stared at her phone, a new message popped up.
JOKER: "Don’t even think of doing anything stupid. If you try anything... your mom and little brother are next. I’ve seen your family photos. You think I won’t?"
Her stomach twisted.
Her eyes drifted to the small knife by her bedside.
For a moment, her hand reached out... then stopped. Frozen.
She broke down, sobbing into her hands. "Please... someone... please help me..."
...................
At a hidden location, inside a sleek warehouse lit with purple-blue LEDs
"Tonight’s the night," said the boy with the blonde hair and green eyes.
His voice was calm, but it held the weight of command.
He stood at the center of a glowing round table, monitors all around him displaying lines of code.
He was the captain of the Holy Hackers.
"Joker’s activity spike is off the charts," he continued.
"He’s targeting another girl as we speak. We end this tonight. No more chances."
Around the table, three others nodded.
One was a tall girl with short crimson hair and dark lipstick. She wore a black hoodie with a skull patch.
Her hacker tag: RogueSpectre.
"I’ve been tracking his backdoors for weeks," she said.
"He’s a snake. Moves fast. Last time I almost had him, he rerouted through sixteen proxies in ten seconds."
Beside her sat a smaller girl with twin buns and glasses. Her hoodie had a cartoon kitten on it.
She went by MintCode.
"I traced his signal to somewhere in this city," she said nervously.
"He’s not just a script kiddie. He’s fast, like—really fast."
The last team member was a quiet boy with a buzzcut and earbuds in.
His name was Byte, and he never talked much. Just nodded and typed.
Captain turned to them all. "We go in carefully. One mistake and he vanishes again."
But just as they were about to launch the attack—
Ping!
MintCode gasped. "Uh... Captain... look at this."
On the main screen, a new presence had entered Joker’s system.
User: Light
"Who the heck is Light?" RogueSpectre muttered.
"Someone’s already in?" Captain’s brows furrowed. "No way."
MintCode leaned closer. "Their approach is... weird. No masking. No silent entry. They’re not hiding their trail. And look—they left a tag."
On the screen, a message flashed in golden letters:
"The Light shines where shadows fall."
RogueSpectre scoffed. "That’s so corny. Who does that? This guy’s too flashy. Probably a newbie trying to get famous."
"Still," Captain said slowly, eyes scanning the data, "they got in... before us."
"Friend or foe?" MintCode asked.
Captain didn’t answer right away.
"...Doesn’t matter. We do what we came to do. Light’s either helping, or getting in our way."
"Roger," RogueSpectre nodded. "Let’s fry this Joker."
..................
Meanwhile, inside a dark apartment lit only by screen glow
Joker sat hunched at his desk, surrounded by empty cans and bags of chips. His eyes, heavy with dark circles, were locked on his monitor. His glasses reflected lines of code.
"Almost got into her bank account," he mumbled, fingers flying. "Just one more step—"
Then something beeped.
He froze.
Warning: Unauthorized access detected.
"Ugh... not again," Joker growled, rubbing his temple. "Those Holy Hackers are like roaches."
He cracked his fingers and started typing furiously, setting up firewalls and scrambling his traces.
But then he paused.
A new IP.
Not from the Holy Hackers.
Not masked.
User: Light
"Who the hell is this?"
He leaned back, watching as Light danced through his files. Bold, unafraid. Almost taunting him.
His lips curled into a grin.
"Well, well... this just got interesting."
He narrowed his eyes.
"Let’s play, Light."
.................
Aurora leaned back in her chair, a satisfied smirk tugging at her lips as Joker’s system pinged with the alert.
"Oh... you noticed me?" she murmured, cracking her knuckles. "Perfect."
Her fingers danced across the keyboard, sending out waves of code like a silent war cry. One screen tracked Joker’s firewalls. Another began cracking the weaker layers. Her eyes narrowed, focused, hungry.
"Let’s begin the real fun."
Joker’s initial response was swift.
Firewalls shifted. Ports locked down. Algorithms rerouted.
Inside his apartment, Joker scoffed. "Come on, Light. You’re flashy but sloppy. Rookie mistake."
Lines of Aurora’s code were repelled almost instantly.
Back in the Holy Hackers’ base, RogueSpectre rolled her eyes. "Well, that didn’t last long."
MintCode tilted her head. "He’s... not bad, but Joker’s eating him alive."
Byte just grunted and shook his head.
Captain watched closely. "Wait."
Aurora’s attacks kept coming—relentless but erratic. Joker looked amused.
"Too easy," he muttered. "You’re not even masking your route. Are you even trying?"
He launched a trap code designed to boot any intruder out of his system.
Aurora’s system flashed red.
"Cute," she whispered, eyes glinting. "But I’m not done."
Instead of retreating, she redirected her energy to a side tunnel. She let him think she was panicking—faltering—while she dug deeper beneath his attention.
Back at the Holy Hackers base, Captain’s brows furrowed.
"...Why is he still in?"
MintCode blinked. "I thought he got kicked out."
"No," Byte said quietly, eyes on the data stream. "He rerouted... again."
RogueSpectre leaned forward. "How’s he still standing? Joker should’ve wiped him out by now."
Captain murmured, "Either Light’s really lucky... or really good at pretending he’s not."
Back in Joker’s apartment, Joker tapped away, feeling that rising tingle of victory.
"Another wannabe trying to play hero. You’ll be gone in two minutes."
But then—
Ding.
His phone buzzed.
He ignored it.
Probably another terrified girl paying up.
Ding. Ding. Ding.
He gritted his teeth.
"Annoying."
More messages.
Ding. Ding. DING. DING.
The buzzing got louder—faster—blaring like an alarm.
"What the hell—?" Joker reached for his phone with irritation.
Before he could mute it, a message popped up on his computer screen:
"Check your phone."
Joker blinked.
"...What?"
Heart thumping suddenly louder, he picked up his phone and opened the first message.
And then another.
And another.
And another.
"No... no, no, no—!"
His fingers trembled as he scrolled.
His bank notifications were endless.
$200... transferred to Emma R.
$500... transferred to Lisa T.
$150... transferred to Mei H.
His jaw dropped.
$40,000... GONE.
All of it... sent back to the girls he had scammed.
"No! MY MONEY!!" he screamed, tossing the phone onto the desk in panic.
His breathing became erratic, shoulders shaking.
"I—I saved that! I worked for that! I—!"
He collapsed forward, fingers gripping his greasy hair.
"Why... why is this happening?!"
Pathetic sobs filled the room. "I just wanted money. They were stupid. I was smarter. That’s all..."
He wiped his face, eyes red, nose running.
But then, a flicker of hope.
He turned back to the main drive.
The folder.
"Photos" are still there.
He clicked.
