Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 178: Where Is She?
Chapter 178: Chapter 178: Where Is She?
The woman blinked, like she didn’t believe what she just heard.
"You... You do?" she asked, her voice shaking.
Adriana gave a small nod again. "Yes. I have it."
"So can you donate some?" The woman asked hopefully.
Adriana hesitated only for a second before nodding. After all, a human life was at stake, she couldn’t decline.
For a second, the woman just stood there, staring at her. Then, all at once, tears filled her eyes, and she grabbed Adriana’s hands tightly.
"Thank you! Thank you so much! Please, come with me right now! My boss is in the emergency room, and he needs blood right away!"
Adriana didn’t even stop to think.
She followed the woman, her footsteps fast, her mind racing.
As they walked through the hospital halls, the woman kept glancing at Adriana like she was a miracle.
"Most people don’t even know what Rh null is," the woman said quickly.
"But my boss... he’s the kindest person I know. He runs an orphanage, he helps people even when he has nothing. This accident was so sudden... a car crash."
Adriana stayed quiet.
Her chest still hurt from Henry’s betrayal, but helping someone who was fighting to stay alive made her feel like maybe, just maybe, she still had a purpose.
Soon, they reached the blood donation room.
The nurses were already waiting, and when the woman told them Adriana was Rh null, they rushed her inside.
"We need 650 ml of blood. Are you sure you want to donate that much?" The nurse asked.
Adriana knew that she would feel dizzy and weak if she donated so much blood, but she nodded anyway.
The nurse nodded,
"Good, please sit down."
Adriana sat in the chair, rolled up her sleeve, and felt the cool wipe of alcohol on her skin. As the needle went in, she closed her eyes.
After making sure Adriana was healthy enough to donate, the nurses ran a few quick checks.
Her blood pressure, temperature, and heartbeat were all normal. So they gave her a soft smile and said,
"You’re good to go."
The nurse gently inserted the needle, and Adriana watched the dark red blood flow into the bag.
She tried to stay calm, but after a few minutes, she started feeling lightheaded. Her fingers felt cold, and her eyelids got heavy.
When it was over, the nurse helped her lie down on a hospital bed nearby.
"You’ve given a lot of blood," she said kindly.
"Just rest here for a while. Here, drink this juice and take these supplements. They’ll help."
Adriana slowly sipped the juice and swallowed the pills. Her head felt light, like she was floating. She closed her eyes and didn’t realize that time was passing.
Three whole hours went by without her even knowing.
Meanwhile, in a private room just a few steps away, the man she had saved finally opened his eyes.
His eyelashes fluttered, and he blinked slowly, as if waking up from a long dream.
"Boss! You’re awake!" the woman, his assistant, cried in relief. She looked like she had been holding back tears all day. "Thank the heavens..."
The young man took a shaky breath and looked around. His body still felt weak, but he was alive.
"Who..." he asked, his voice dry, "who donated the blood?"
Before losing consciousness, he had heard that he had lost a lot of blood and needed blood transfusion.
And only one thought echoed in his mind. He was doomed.
Finding Rh null blood was close to impossible.
"A kind girl," the assistant said quickly. "She had the same rare blood type. Without her... you wouldn’t have made it. I was asking around in the hospital lobby when I met her...she si truly like a angel sent from heavens."
The young man stayed quiet for a moment. Then he said, "Move her bed next to mine."
"Eh?" the assistant blinked.
"I want to see her," he said, more serious this time. "Please."
The assistant nodded and left the room quickly. Soon after, nurses gently rolled Adriana’s bed closer and placed it beside his.
The young man turned his head slightly to look at her.
And when he did, it felt like the air left his lungs.
She was sleeping, her eyes closed, her breathing soft. Even in that tired state, she looked like an angel.
Her fair skin looked smooth and gentle under the hospital light. Her lips were slightly pink, and a small lock of her black hair brushed across her cheek.
She didn’t look like someone who had just lost so much blood. She looked peaceful. Calm. Almost magical.
The young man, who had always acted proud and distant, felt his heart skip a beat.
At first, he had just wanted to thank her for saving his life. But now, looking at her so closely, he felt something strange inside him. Something warm. Something new.
He couldn’t look away.
Who is she? he thought, staring at her face like he was trying to memorize it.
He had seen many pretty women before. But none of them made him feel like this. Not one.
"Thank you..." He whispered, eyes still locked on her sleeping face. "I don’t even know your name yet, but I think... I won’t forget you."
Without moving his gaze away, he ordered his assistant,
"Go and get all the details about her."
The assistant was stunned, but she knew she couldn’t question her employer, so she nodded and left.
The young man continued to stare at Adriana...innocently...obsessively...as if she were the only one in the entire world.
Was it attraction? Obsession? Or love at first sight?
The young man didn’t know, after all, he had flings and affairs but his heart never skipped a beat for anyone till now.
Maybe it was because of anesthesia or painkillers, the young man felt a wave of dizziness washing over him, but he fought it back.
He couldn’t bear to look away from the pretty angel in front of him.
In the end, even with his resistance, the young man fell asleep.
’I will ask her out once she wakes up.’ He thought. However by the time he woke up, Adriana was long gone.
Adriana woke up and looked around in confusion. It took her 2 minutes to realize where she was.
She checked the time and muttered,
"Sh*t I am late! Mom and Dad would give me a 3-hour lecture! Damn it!"
With that, she carefully got off the bed and was about to leave when her eyes fell on the half-drawn curtain beside her.
She paused, feeling a little curious. Slowly, she stepped closer and gently pushed the curtain aside.
Her heart skipped a beat. freeweɓnøvel.com
There, lying on the hospital bed, was a young man.
He looked like he was sleeping, his face calm and peaceful.
His skin was pale, but not in a sickly way—it made him look like a prince from one of those fairy tale books.
His blonde hair was a little messy, but it somehow looked perfect.
And even though his eyes were closed, Adriana could see the long lashes resting gently on his cheeks.
His face looked like it was carved out of marble. Sharp jawline, straight nose, and lips that looked soft.
He was honestly... too handsome to be real.
Adriana blinked a few times, unsure if she was dreaming.
"Whoa..." she whispered under her breath.
Then she remembered something.
Wait... is he the one I gave blood to?
She wasn’t sure. But her gut told her it had to be him.
A strange feeling bloomed in her chest. She didn’t know what it was, but it made her stay a little longer, just staring at his sleeping face.
He looked so peaceful, like he had no worries at all.
But ultimately, she snapped out of her daze and patted her cheeks,
"Wake up, Adriana! What are you thinking? Handsome men like him are trouble!"
She had dated one during her teenage years and knew that none of them could ever love sincerely.
They have too many girls wanting a piece of them, and in the end, they couldn’t resist and sleep with all of them.
She had dated Henry in the first place because he was good-looking, but not too much. He also expressed his loyalty during the time he was chasing her...and she fell for it...
So now she reached a conclusion.
’Men are not worth it.’
With that thought, she forced herself, scolded her reluctant heart, and left the hospital ward.
Anyways, it wasn’t like the blonde young man would throw himself at her or something if she stayed, right?
Five hours later, the young man slowly opened his eyes.
His head still felt a little heavy, but the first thing he did was turn to the bed next to his.
His heart beat faster.
But—
It was empty.
The blankets were neatly folded. The pillow had no trace of anyone lying on it. There was no sign of the girl who had saved him.
