Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 171: Revenge
Chapter 171: Chapter 171: Revenge
Olivia pulled herself away and heaved a sigh of relief.
"Good. Good. Don’t worry, sister will take care of everything."
Aurora raised an eyebrow and laughed,
"What? How can you take care?"
Olivia was just a university student. What can she do?
A glint appeared in her eyes, and she smiled,
"I can’t, I was just joking. You stay here. I still have some work to do."
Aurora watched Olivia leave, still a little confused. She closed the door and leaned against it, staring at the floor.
"Sister will take care of everything, huh..." she muttered. "She always says that."
She sighed and dropped her bag on the couch. The apartment felt too quiet. Her mom wasn’t home yet. Probably working late again.
Aurora walked into the kitchen, opened the fridge, and grabbed a juice box.
At the same time, she took out her phone and forwarded the photos of Caroline and Zane being together, and also revealed that the one who had tortured her was Caroline.
To prove her claim, she sent the video she had taken before.
Before removing the virus completely, Aurora message Mandy,
"She tortured you because she was scared that I would send the photos to you. Haha! Mandy, I still remember how you took a stand for her to humiliate me. Now you are betrayed by your dear best friend, do you feel thrilled?"
..........................................
Mandy stared at the message on her phone, her hands shaking. She was sitting on her bed with a bag of chips, but now she wasn’t hungry anymore.
Her heart pounded as she watched the video Aurora sent. Caroline’s voice. Zane’s voice.
It was real.
She dropped the phone on her bed like it burned her.
"No way..." Mandy whispered. "That man said...it was... no...he had said I had offended someone...So Caroline that b*tch wanting to hide her betrayal went so far?"
She picked the phone back up and opened the photos.
Caroline and Zane. Smiling. Holding hands. Even kissing.
Mandy felt sick.
She texted back.
Mandy: Why are you showing me this? You hate me.
A moment later, Aurora replied.
Unknown: I do. But even I don’t think you deserve what she did.
Unknown: You believed in her so much, and look how she paid you back.
Unknown: Next time, maybe don’t throw people under the bus without checking the truth.
Mandy didn’t know what to say. She curled up on her bed and hugged her knees.
She felt like a fool.
Unknown: If you want to take revenge on her, just secretly lock her for 15 minutes, like she tortured you.
Mandy stared at the last message.
Her fingers trembled, hovering over the screen.
She didn’t want to believe she was the kind of person who’d do something like that.
But... Caroline did worse. Caroline betrayed her twice—first by stealing Zane, then by hurting her so bad she couldn’t sleep without crying for nights.
Thinking how she had stood for Caroline against Aurora and everyone who had dared to harm Caroline, Mandy was filled with anger.
Her lips twisted into a small, cold smile.
She knew she couldn’t fight Caroline head-on. Their families were both powerful. If she screamed or blamed Caroline, they’d just cover it up. Hide it all. freёwebnoѵel.com
But this? This was something she could do.
Just fifteen minutes. Nothing more.
She chuckled, low and dark, surprising even herself.
Then she opened her contacts and called Caroline.
It rang only once.
"Mandy?!" Caroline’s voice came through, soft and sweet like syrup.
"How are you? I’ve been so worried. I wanted to call earlier, but I didn’t know if you wanted to talk to me yet."
Mandy put on her best shaky voice. "C-Caroline... I’m scared."
There was silence. Then, "Scared? What happened? Are you okay?"
"I...I keep on remembering the needles. The way that man tortured me. I keep on feeling as if there is someone in my home. Can you... can you come over? Just for a little while? I don’t want to be alone."
Guilt rushed through Caroline’s voice. "Of course! Of course I’ll come! I’ll be there in ten minutes. Just stay inside, lock the door."
"Okay... thank you."
She hung up and stared at her phone, her hands still shaking—but not from fear.
From excitement.
.............................
Ten minutes later, the doorbell rang.
Mandy opened the door slowly, like she was scared. Her face looked pale, her eyes wide, but it was all fake.
Caroline stepped in quickly and gave her a small hug. "It’s okay, I’m here now. What did you see?"
Mandy bit her lip and pointed toward the hallway. "I thought I saw something move over there. I even heard a sound from the guest room. Can you just... just check it for me? Please?"
"Sure," Caroline said, trying to smile. "It’s probably nothing."
She walked down the hallway, her steps soft.
Mandy followed quietly, holding her breath.
Caroline stepped into the guest room, looking around. "See? There’s nothing h—"
Click.
Mandy slammed the door shut and turned the key fast.
"Hey—HEY! MANDY?!" Caroline yelled from inside, banging on the door. "What are you doing?!"
Mandy didn’t answer right away. She just leaned against the door, heart pounding.
"Let me out!" Caroline screamed. "Please! Mandy! I—I don’t like small spaces!"
"Oh, I know," Mandy whispered.
"Mandy, come on! I—I can’t breathe! I swear I didn’t mean to hurt you, I was just scared!"
"Yeah?" Mandy said, her voice calm now. "Scared you’d get caught for dating Zane behind my back? or scared that everyone will know that it wasn’t Aurora who tortured me, but you."
"No—no—it wasn’t like that!"
"You locked me in a room and scared me for 15 minutes," Mandy said, louder now. "All to keep your little secret safe. So guess what, Caroline?"
She smiled, dark and cruel.
"Now it’s your turn."
Caroline pounded on the door, crying. "Please! Mandy, please! You know I’m claustrophobic! I—I feel like I can’t breathe!"
"Fifteen minutes," Mandy said softly. "You’ll be fine. Just like I was, right?"
