Chapter 148: Chapter 148: Prank

Mandy: "So, did you get Aurora’s photos?"

Caroline: "Yes. I will send it to you."

After a while, Caroline sent all of Aurora’s photos, which Aurora had posted online.

Caroline: "Are you sure, Mandy, with these photos you can create those types of videos?"

Mandy: "Yes, don’t worry. She would be done for! With these photos, we can create her 18+ videos and post them on porn hub. Then I will share the link to Zane, who will share it among other boys. Let’s see if she can hold her head high then."

Caroline: "But what if Aurora files a complaint against us?"

Mandy: "Don’t worry, our parents are the school’s authorities. Who would dare to stand against us?"

Aurora’s hands clenched around her phone, her jaw tight.

So, that’s what they were up to. Trying to make fake videos of her? To ruin her reputation?

She felt her blood boil, but she forced herself to stay calm. Freaking out wouldn’t help.

Instead, she smirked. They were just making her job easier by being so careless.

"Idiots," she muttered, shaking her head.

Without hesitation, she took screenshots of the chats from Caroline’s phone and posted them on the school forum.

At first, the post didn’t gain any attraction but when Aurora did a bit of hacking, it ranked first on the entire forum.

Comments started to flood in:

CoolKid22: "Wait... Caroline and Mandy are making fake videos of Aurora? That’s messed up."

SoccerStar45: "Bruh, this is beyond bullying. It’s like straight-up illegal."

EmilyRocks: "My cousin got cyberbullied like this once. It ruined her life. This is just disgusting."

JadeQueen: "Wow, Caroline and Mandy always act all high and mighty. Guess they’re just garbage."

NerdyGeek89: "Anyone got the screenshots? I need to show my parents. This isn’t okay."

ZaneTheMan: "Yo, I ain’t part of their drama. Leave me out of this."

Carrotbuild: "What if the screenshots are fake?"

DiamondGirl: "I think so, too. Who had uploaded these photos? How did they gain access to Caroline’s phone? Most importantly, do you think Caroline and Mandy are so brazen?"

Reading the last comment, Aurora raised an eyebrow and decided to do a little trick.

She hid the post from Caroline and Mandy. At the same time, when Mandy uploaded the fake video online, Aurora replaced it with an identical yet slightly disturbing video.

In the video, though it was her face, it was just a picture and not the actual moving face. Like a picture attached on scarecrow.

Aurora hated that such a video was getting circulated; however, to gain something, she needed to compromise.

At least, it was clear that the video was fake.

And...it would be more than enough to present as evidence when she would file a complaint against Caroline and Mandy.

In the school forum, classmates rapidly tagged Caroline and Mandy, but they couldn’t see the post at all. At last, both of them dismissed it as a prank.

To ensure that they don’t see the post through the message or someone inform them about the post, Aurora transferred a small virus in their phone through the app in her computer.

As long as someone entered the keywords "post", "forum", "lie", "truth", "Aurora", or "chats", their phones would glitch out like crazy. Flashing screens, apps shutting down, and random music blasting. Basically, a total nightmare.

Aurora smirked. It wasn’t some evil-level hacking or anything, just enough to keep them off her trail for a while.

The school forum was still blowing up. More comments kept flooding in.

BlueSky23: "I just saw the video. It’s totally fake! Aurora’s face is like... a picture pasted on something. So creepy."

DinoFan: "If Caroline and Mandy really did this, they should be expelled. No mercy for bullies."

BookWorm: "I’m saving all the screenshots and the video. This is serious stuff."

EmilyRocks: "Same. Aurora, if you need help reporting them, count me in."

Aurora didn’t back down and instead tried to gain more sympathy as she commented,

Aurora: "I truly didn’t think they would stoop to such a low level..."

After taking her little revenge, Aurora disguised herself as a mature woman, wore the veil, and left the apartment.

Today she was going to meet with Alex and talk with him about the investment plan.

Emily picked Aurora up, and they soon reached a restaurant witha private room.

Alex was waiting for Aurora to arrive.

On seeing her, he stood up and greeted her,

"Good evening, Miss Dawn."

"Good evening." Aurora nodded.

Once Aurora sat down, Alex and sat down and said softly,

"I am sorry for rudely dismissing you that day, Miss Dawn. You were taking my side...I let my emotions get the better of me and ignored your efforts."

Aurora didn’t forgive right away.

Though she had a soft spot for Alex and wanted to see him successful, it doesn’t mean he could overlook her efforts.

He didn’t know the person behind the veil was his half sister.

But he did know that the person wearing the veil was Miss Dawn. The one who helped him to reach where he is today.

And yet he ignored her that day.

"Apologies are easy to say, Mr. Green," Aurora said, her voice steady.

"But actions speak louder. You ignored me when I tried to help you. If you can’t respect the efforts of someone who supports you, how do you plan to reach the top?"

Alex looked down, guilt clear on his face.

"You’re right, Miss Dawn. I messed up. I was too caught up in my own frustrations and... I took it out on the wrong person. You."

He looked back up, eyes earnest.

"I promise I’ll do better. I really value your guidance, and I’d hate to lose your support over my own stupidity."

Aurora crossed her arms, leaning back in her chair.

"Words are just words. Show me you mean it."

"Please tell me the way to show my sincerity!" Alex said.

"How about swearing your loyalty to me?" Aurora asked in a calm voice.

Alex blinked, his eyes going wide. "Swear my loyalty...?"

Aurora nodded, her gaze steady.

"Yes. Words don’t mean much unless you’re willing to back them up with action. If you’re serious about proving yourself, then swear your loyalty to me."

Alex gulped, feeling nervous. "Uh, like... an oath or something?"

"Something like that," Aurora replied, her tone cool.

"If you want my support, I need to know you won’t betray me or take my efforts for granted again. Also, you will listen to my command."

Alex hesitated for a moment, but then he clenched his fists and looked Aurora straight in the eyes.

"Alright. I swear my loyalty to you, Miss Dawn. From now on, I’ll listen to your guidance and give you the respect you deserve. I won’t let my own stupid emotions get in the way again. And I will listen to you."

Aurora watched him, her expression unreadable. After a few seconds, she nodded.

"Good. Remember those words, Alex. Break them, and there won’t be a second chance."

"I won’t," Alex said quickly, determination all over his face.

Aurora leaned forward.

"Now, about the investment plan. I will invest $10 million in your company, but every major business proposal will need my approval."

"Alright." Alex thought for a while before agreeing.

He had seen how Aurora easily pointed out the mistake in the business proposal earlier and hoped to receive some guidance.

After discussing some of the business proposals, Aurora asked,

"How is your half-brother?"

At the mention of his half-brother, Alex tensed slightly before reporting,

"Mr. Green is trying his best to support and protect his son."

Aurora tapped her fingers on the armrest and said,

"What project are they focusing on?"

"It is some wasteland in the east," Alex explained.

"They’re trying to turn it into some sort of luxury resort. But... It’s risky. The place is hard to access, and the environment is pretty rough. Not a lot of people wanna go there."

Aurora tilted her head, eyes narrowing,

"What about you? What do you think about the land?"

"The land’s not bad. It’s got resources and stuff. But making a resort there? It’s just dumb. No one’s gonna travel all the way to some wasteland just for a fancy hotel. It’s too far, and the roads are terrible.

If it was me, I’d focus on using the resources from the land itself. Like, maybe turning it into a farming area or setting up factories. Something practical. Not some luxury spot only rich people can go to."

"That’s a smarter plan," Aurora agreed. Then her expression changed, and she said,

"But did you hear the recent government news?"

"News? What news?" Alex asked, curiosity flashing in his eyes.

Aurora motioned to Emily, and Emily passed the file she was carrying to Alex.

"The government announced they’re planning to build a new highway that’ll pass right by that wasteland," Aurora said, her voice calm.

"Once it’s built, that area won’t be so hard to access anymore. In fact, it’ll become a prime location for tourism and business."
