Chapter 119: Chapter 119: Exposing -1

Even the men who were holding Alex let go, backing away in fear.

Nora, who had been standing at the side, watched with wide eyes. Her hands trembled.

"This... This isn’t right..." she mumbled, stepping backward.

The real Miss Dawn was too frightening! What if she knew the truth and beat her up?

’No I can’t take rish anymore! I should leave!’ Nora thought.

But before she could take another step—

"STOP!"

Jasper, who had been groaning on the floor, suddenly snapped back to his senses.

His face was bruised, his lip was bleeding, but his eyes were filled with rage.

He pointed at Nora and shouted,

"You! The real Miss Dawn! Are you just going to stand there and let this stand-in humiliate me?!"

Nora froze.

Everyone turned to look at her.

Jasper gritted his teeth, his voice filled with anger.

"She’s just a fake! You’re the real one! Teach her a lesson! Make her apologize to me!"

The room went even quieter.

Aurora, who had been wiping the blood off her hands, slowly looked up.

Her cold eyes locked onto Nora.

A chilling smile appeared on her lips.

"Oh? So she is the real Dawn and I am stand-in? Is that what she told you all?" Aurora asked tilting her head.

Nora swallowed hard.

She had wanted to leave quietly, but now everyone was staring at her. She couldn’t just walk away.

Jasper, still on the ground, sneered. "What? Are you scared? You’re the real Dawn, aren’t you? Or are you just a useless coward?"

Aurora took a slow step toward Nora.

Her smile was cold, like a sharp knife.

"So," Aurora said, her voice calm but dangerous, "you’ve been pretending to be me?"

Nora’s face turned pale. She quickly shook her head. "N-No! I never said that! They misunderstood!"

Aurora chuckled. "Oh? They misunderstood? Then why didn’t you correct them?"

Nora’s hands clenched into fists. "I-I was going to! But—"

"But you enjoyed it, didn’t you?" Aurora’s voice cut through the air.

"You liked being treated as Miss Dawn. You liked the respect. The gifts. The power."

Nora took a step back. "I... I..."

Aurora’s smile faded.

"Answer me, Miss Nora," she said. "Or should I make you?"

The room felt colder.

Jasper, still lying on the floor, gritted his teeth.

"What nonsense are you spouting? She is real Miss Dawn!"

He turned toward Nora and shouted,

"Don’t let her scare you! You’re the real one! She’s just pretending!"

The other businessmen who had given Nora gifts started to speak up too,

The businessmen who had given Nora gifts looked at each other, unsure.

One of them, a man with a round belly, frowned.

"Yeah! We treated you as Miss Dawn! Are you saying we were wrong?"

Another man, tall and thin, crossed his arms.

"You accepted everything! The money, the gifts, the respect! And now you’re quiet?"

Nora’s face turned red. She shook her head quickly. "N-No! I— I didn’t mean to—"

Aurora took another step forward, her sharp eyes locking onto Nora’s shaking figure.

"You didn’t mean to?" Aurora asked, her voice mocking.

"Did the expensive jewelry just fall into your hands? Did the servants just force themselves to serve you?"

Nora bit her lip. Her eyes darted around, looking for someone to defend her. But the businessmen only looked at her with expectation in their eyes.

Even Jasper waited for her to confirm that she was the real Miss Dawn.

Thinking about the gifts and villa which are still not sold, Nora gritted her teeth and bit the bullet,

"I am the real Miss Dawn!" she shouted.

Gasps filled the room.

Aurora raised an eyebrow, amused. "Oh?" she said, tilting her head.

Jasper smirked. "That’s right! You all heard her! She’s the real one!"

The businessmen, who had been hesitating, slowly nodded.

"Then she must be telling the truth..."

"Yeah, we trusted her all this time."

Aurora let out a small laugh. It was not a happy one. It was cold.

She took a step closer, her eyes like ice.

"Alright then," she said, her voice soft but sharp. "Prove it."

Nora blinked. "W-What?"

Aurora crossed her arms. "I have proof that I am the real Miss Dawn, what proof do you have?"

Jasper wasn’t to be outdone and said,

"First you prove to us that you are the real Dawn."

Aurora smiled behind her veil and called,

"Emily come here."

Emily who was looking at Aurora in a daze, came back to her senses and answered,

"Yes."

The moment everyone watched Emily, they had complex feelings.

Emily was Miss Dawn’s right hand. If she was standing by Aurora’s side then it means that Aurora was indeed the real Miss Dawn.

Jasper however still didn’t believe it and said,

"You were hired by Nora! Emily was asked to act with you! As long as Nora beckons her, Emily will stand beside Nora."

Emily turned her head and looked at Nora.

Her face was calm, but her eyes were sharp.

"Nora," Emily said slowly, "do you really want me to stand by your side?"

Nora’s body stiffened. She forced a smile. "O-Of course! You have always worked for me, right?"

Emily chuckled. It was a soft sound, but it made Nora shiver.

Then, Emily took a step closer to Aurora and stood beside her.

"I only serve the real Miss Dawn," Emily said firmly.

The room went dead silent.

Jasper’s face twisted. "Lies!" he shouted. "She’s betraying you, Nora! Tell her to come back!"

Nora clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palm.

She wanted to order Emily back, but... she knew it was useless.

The businessmen started whispering again.

"Even Emily doesn’t stand with her?"

"Then... she really is fake?"

"I can’t believe I wasted my money on her!"

Aurora finally spoke again, her voice lazy.

"Well, Nora? Do you have any proof? Or do you need more time to come up with a lie?"

Nora’s face burned. She wanted to disappear. When she sensed Jasper’s gaze, she panicked and came up with a lie,

"I... I left my proof at home!"

The businessmen frowned. Jasper’s face darkened.

"Left it at home?" Aurora repeated, her voice mocking. "How convenient."

Nora nodded quickly. "Yes! If you give me time, I-I can bring it!"

Aurora sighed, shaking her head. "Nora, do you really think you can fool everyone here?"

The room stayed silent. The businessmen were no longer looking at Nora with respect. Instead, their faces were full of doubt.

Jasper, however, refused to give up.

"So what?! Even if she doesn’t have proof right now, it doesn’t mean she’s lying!" He turned to the businessmen. "You all trusted her before, didn’t you?"

The businessmen hesitated.

"Well... she did act like Miss Dawn..."

"But if she really is, why doesn’t she have proof?"

Aurora watched them, then suddenly laughed.

It was a light, amused chuckle, but it sent chills down Nora’s spine.

"Fine," Aurora said, stepping forward.

"If you need more proof, then let me give you something you can’t deny."

With that Aurora took out the invitation and waved it in the air.

Other desperate businessmen focused on the invitation and their expression changed.

Miles, Harry, and his other friends were stunned.

Miles patted on Harry’s hand and said,

"Call that guard at the entrance and ask what color clothes Miss Dawn was wearing."

Harry, with his trembling hands, pulled out his phone and quickly dialed the guard at the entrance.

The phone rang a few times before the guard picked up.

"Hello?" the guard’s voice came through the speaker.

Harry swallowed hard. "T-The Miss Dawn that entered earlier... what color were her clothes?"

The guard didn’t even hesitate. "She was wearing beige color business suit with a black veil."

Gasps filled the room.

Aurora, still holding the invitation, smiled behind her veil. "Well? What color is my outfit?"

Everyone looked at her.

Beige. With a black veil.

Exactly like the guard had described.

The businessmen turned to stare at Nora.

Nora’s face was pale. She was wearing a red dress.

Jasper’s confidence wavered. "T-That doesn’t mean anything! Maybe she changed clothes!"

Aurora tilted her head, amused. "Oh? Then tell me, Jasper, when exactly did I have time to change in front of all of you?"

Jasper opened his mouth but had no answer.

Harry hung up the call, his face full of realization. "We... we’ve been tricked..." he muttered.

The other businessmen started whispering.

"We trusted the wrong person."

"I can’t believe I wasted money on her!"

Nora’s hands clenched into fists. "I—It was a mistake! I-I never meant to—!"

Aurora cut her off.

"You never meant to?" She took a step forward, her voice like ice.

"Then why did you accept the gifts? The respect? The power?"

Nora backed away, but Aurora didn’t stop.

"You had plenty of chances to correct them," Aurora said. "But you didn’t. Because you liked it."

Nora shook her head frantically. "No! No! I—!"

"You even claimed with confidence that you are Miss Dawn even when I gave you the chance, to tell the truth."
