Ashen Dragon-Chapter 634 - 65 Special Ceremony_2
"The boss should make an appearance, right? This seems to be the tradition."
"Is there a chance to touch His Majesty Cassius’s tail..."
And soon, players gathered in groups, making the already crowded square impassable.
Out of the three million players from the entire Empire, close to ten percent had gathered here, with many more still on their way.
"Dong—"
The dull sound of the bell rang out, the Empire’s flag fluttering in mid-air, and the Half-Goat People military band played a stirring victory march.
Accompanied by ripples in space, an Ogre wielding a scepter appeared at the top of the Isdalia Grand Altar, overlooking the hundreds of thousands of Imperial Citizens below.
"It’s the Prime Minister!"
"What a grand occasion, every knighthood ceremony is personally presided over by the Important Figure."
"This is a ceremony that even His Majesty places great importance on!"
Listening to that noisy sound, Ramp slightly frowned and forcefully tapped the ground with his scepter.
Dong, dong.
"Silence!
To ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremony, please remain quiet and await His Majesty’s arrival."
With the power of magic, Ramp’s clear voice echoed across the venue, resonating in the ears of every citizen, spreading throughout the City of Isdalia.
Instantly, the hundreds of thousands present fell silent, filled with anticipation, devoutly looking up into the sky. The venue turned particularly solemn, with low prayers occasionally heard.
Upon Ramp’s command, the Half-Goat People once again played majestic music, the drums strong and the harp uplifting, seemingly paving the way for the arrival of an Important Figure.
"Roar—"
A prolonged Dragon’s Roar came from the sky, a strong wind pressure weighing on everyone’s shoulders as the massive scarlet figure slowly descended from the clouds, appearing at the top of the Isdalia Grand Altar.
The nearly fifty-meter-long Red Dragon flapped its wings, stirring up gusts of wind.
Instantly, the wind swept the clouds away, clearing the sky.
Then, the nascent sun slowly emerged behind it, emitting a brilliance as if being lifted by the colossal dragon’s body.
The scarlet scales were covered with a halo, shimmering brilliantly, appearing extraordinarily divine.
"Cassius above..."
"Great Red Dragon!"
"His Imperial Majesty! The Emperor is like the red sun high in the sky!"
"No, not even the sun possesses the brilliance and grandeur of His Majesty! This is the ultimate status of His Majesty Cassius!"
On the ground, people, disregarding the dazzling sunlight, looked up at the sky with devout expressions, continuously exclaiming and praising, those pairs of fervent eyes reflecting the mighty figure of the Red Dragon.
In this moment, all beings were chanting his glory—even the usually madcap and carefree Starfallen were no exception.
"Emperor Kai is invincible!"
"For the Ashen Empire!"
"His Majesty Cassius! The dragon among dragons! The male among males! Giant dragons, demon king, destroyer dragon..."
"I want to touch His Majesty Cassius’s tail!"
They too were caught up in this fervent atmosphere and started cheering loudly; although their wording was still somewhat odd, the Imperial Citizens nearby had long since grown used to it.
Although Cassius had restrained himself, the invisible Dragon’s Might still descended on the city, causing everyone within a hundred miles to feel a tightness in their chest.
Even those citizens not participating in the ceremony had unconsciously stopped their work, looking toward the center of the city, the Isdalia Grand Altar, and even knelt down for it.
"Boom!"
Accompanied by the trembling of the earth and a cloud of dust swirling up, the Red Dragon thunderously landed at the very top of the altar. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
He folded his wings slightly and lowered his head, gazing upon the myriad of beings below with his profound pale-gold vertical pupils and nodded slightly.
Ignoring the voices of the players, Cassius was quite satisfied with this, for his reputation in the Empire had risen another level after the defense against the Abyss War.
The image of the God of Victory and the God of War solidified again in people’s hearts, and even the title of "God of Protection" was added.
The rich faith that spilled out from the hearts of the Imperial People was palpable to Cassius, even though he had not yet ascended to divinity.
Soon.
After venturing south to conquer Fadlan and seizing the legacy of the "Sun Emperor," Cassius had confidence that he could stand shoulder to shoulder with the Gods.
Thinking of this, the Red Dragon slowly began to speak, his voice thunderous, reverberating through the city and commanding everyone’s solemn respect, yet his words seemed extraordinarily ordinary.
"Imperial Citizens—good morning."
And hearing the Emperor’s personal greeting, the Imperial Citizens at the foot of the altar erupted into cheers, their shouts rising like a tide.
"Good day, Your Majesty!"
"Long Live His Majesty Cassius!"
But as Cassius continued to speak, the cheers suddenly died down, and the people listened intently.
"I have said that the Empire will never tolerate the atrocities of demons, and I have fulfilled my promise, driving the demons completely back to the Abyss.
During that time, warriors on the battlefield, unafraid of death, used cannons and swords to kill demons, avenging their compatriots, while the people back home worked day and night, continuously supplying ammunition to the front lines...
And you, Imperial Citizens, you did well! You stood the test, showcasing the Empire’s will with blood and fire to the Abyss and to the whole world!"
As Cassius’s words fell, people’s shouts and cries rose to the sky like an erupting volcano, as if they would pierce through the heavens.
"Long Live His Majesty Cassius!"
"Long Live the Empire!"
"For the Ashen Empire!"
Even the spies mingled in the crowd from the Harpist Alliance, Thrace Kingdom, and Kingdom of Cassandra momentarily forgot their identities and joined the masses in shouting.
With the attribute of [Smooth Talker] enhanced by Extraordinary Charm, every word and letter uttered by Cassius was like the spell of an Archmage.
It made the hundreds of thousands present feel their blood boiling and their hearts surging, wishing they could rush into the Abyss and slaughter all the demons.
After round upon round of thunderous shouting, the people still did not stop, as if they would never tire.
Cassius then nodded in satisfaction, and raised his claw, signaling for everyone to quiet down.
"I have also said this: the Empire will never fail to reward those citizens who contribute.
I, too, have fulfilled this promise, giving those warriors who fought to the death, diligent officials, and weary researchers great strength, long life, and prestigious status.
And now, I will allow you to become my Proxies, to wield... the Authority of the Empire on my behalf."
Hearing Cassius’s words, the people were immensely excited but also a bit puzzled, still unclear about the weight of these words and the meaning of the so-called "Authority."
But the high-ranking officials of the Empire were absolutely shocked and stirred.
Though they did not understand the "special existence" that Cassius embodied, they all vaguely knew that the Emperor possessed a power, a power that afforded him a god-like status within the Empire—that was the Empire’s Authority.
Kneeling on the ground, Ramp stared wide-eyed and could not help but lift his head to look up at the Red Dragon not far away.
"Master, is this..."
"Isn’t this a bit too much?"
Cassius, however, appeared complacent; he grinned and whispered softly to the Ogre: "This is just a part of my Authority, the relationship between me and the Proxy is like that between Amanata and the Blaze Celestial Servants in His Divine Realm.
And... Ramp, as a Mage, aren’t you curious about this power?"
Ramp bowed his head to the ground, quickly responding, "I dare not, Master, that belongs to you..."
Cassius, unconcerned, lifted his head and instructed the Officer Scribe beside him: "Let the Empire’s meritorious officials come forward, they will receive everything that is due, as the pillars of the Empire."
The Ogre whispered softly: "This is only a part of this Authority, my relationship with the Proxy is like that between Amanata and the Blaze Celestial Servants in His Divine Realm. What has been gained from this existence..."
