A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality: Immortal Realm-Chapter 1390: Unmatched Authority
Chapter 1390: Unmatched Authority
The unrest in all of the immortal regions and the lower realms gradually subsided.
Is it finally over?
Countless living beings across all of the realms and immortal regions were looking up at the gradually clearing skies, feeling as if they had just woken up from some terrible dream.
This was a cataclysmic disaster that had almost destroyed the entire world, but it definitely wasn't the only one in history.
The majority of living beings were forgetful creatures, and as long as a realm wasn't truly destroyed, as long as there were surviving living beings in the realm, then new chapters of history would continue to be written.
In the wake of the calamity, the old equilibrium had been shattered, while a new one was gradually being established.
It was often the case throughout history that the arrival of new eras came in the wake of disasters.
......
In the underworld, Gan Jiuzhen was staring at the boundless river of reincarnation, and all of a sudden, she seemed to have sensed something as tears began streaming down her face.
Right at this moment, a streak of dark red light descended out of the sky before landing in front of her, causing her to reflexively backtrack a few steps.
However, as she caught a clear glimpse of what it was that had landed before her, a myriad of emotions instantly surfaced in her eyes.
The ball of dark red light faded away to reveal the Six Paths Reincarnation Plate, and on its surface was a faint symbol that resembled the face of the Reincarnation Palace Master.
Gan Jiuzhen raised a hand to stroke the symbol on the reincarnation plate, and a determined look appeared on her face as she vowed to herself, "Father, Mother, I will become the Reincarnation Dao Ancestor and resurrect you both..."
......
At this moment, Han Li was standing high up in the sky above the broken Middle Earth Immortal Region, looking straight ahead in silence.
Jin Tong flew over to stand by his side in her human form, and all of a sudden, the space where the chaotic vortex had previously been situated cracked open, following which close a hundred bedraggled figures flew out from within.
The group was led by eight Dao Ancestors, namely Li Yuanjiu, Chi Rong, Chen Ruyan, Dao Ancestor Bai Yun, the rotund woman and the corpse-like man from the Devil Realm, and Bai Ze and the bald man from the primordial land.
The cultivators behind them were split up into three camps, marking their affiliations to the Heavenly Court, the Devil Realm, and the primordial land. There was not a single Gray Realm cultivator to be seen, while True Lord Cang Wu's trio was also absent, and it was clear what fate they had met.
Liu Le'er and Lekima were standing behind Bai Ze and the bald man, while a group of around a dozen Devil Realm cultivators were gathered behind the rotund woman and the corpse-like man, among whom were Shi Pokong, Shi Jingyan, and the late-Great Encompassment Stage devilish prince.
All of them were carrying a multitude of injuries, and it seemed that they had suffered through quite the ordeal.
Han Li wasn't surprised to see them as he had already sensed that they were still alive.
They had been sucked into a spatial storm while the Heaven Controlling Vial was devouring the chaotic vortex, and they had only just managed to free themselves.
No one dared to speak in the wake of the boundless, terrifying aura emanating from Han Li's body.
In the end, it was Bai Ze who took it upon himself to break the silence, and he asked, "What was the outcome of the battle, Fellow Daoist Han?"
"Gu Huojin is dead, and the Three Thousand Daos Divine Array has been vanquished," Han Li replied in a solemn manner.
The primordial and devilish Dao Ancestors heaved a collective sigh of relief upon hearing this, while the cultivators behind them erupted into cheers, while the Heavenly Court cultivators clearly had much more mixed feelings on the matter.
Dao Ancestor heaved a forlorn sigh, and a sense of sorrow welled up in his heart as he turned to look back at the small group of surviving Heavenly Court cultivators behind him.
Part of the reason why he had joined the Heavenly Court was due to Gu Huojin's promise to help him overcome the restrictions of the Heavenly Dao, but his loyalty to the Heavenly Court was undeniable, and he had always served with diligence and dedication.
Not long ago, the Heavenly Court had reigned supreme over the entire True Immortal Realm, yet now, this tiny group was all that remained of its core cultivators.
These people had only managed to survive under the combined protection of himself and two other Heavenly Court Dao Ancestors, both of whom had been devoured by the Three Thousand Daos Divine Array.
The Three Thousand Daos Divine Array devoured Dao Ancestors far faster than it did other cultivators, perhaps because Dao Ancestors were closer to the Heavenly Dao.
"Where is the Devilish Monarch?" the rotund woman asked.
"Where is the Reincarnation Palace Master?" Li Yuanjiu asked at the same time.
"Both of them have also met their demise," Han Li replied, offering no further elaboration on the matter.
A contemplative look appeared on Li Yuanjiu's face upon hearing this, as was the case for Chen Ruyan and Chi Rong.
As for the cultivators of the Devil Realm, they were much more surprised than grief-stricken to hear of the Devilish Monarch's demise.
In fact, the devilish princes and princesses present weren't displaying any sorrow whatsoever. If anything, they seemed ecstatic that the throne had finally been vacated.
However, the late-Great Encompassment Stage prince then suddenly put on a grief-stricken facade as he yelled, "Father's death must not go in vain! Gu Huojin may be dead, but his Heavenly Court accomplices still remain! Let's all combine our powers to eradicate the Heavenly Court once and for all!"
His rallying call was immediately met with support from all of the cultivators of the Devil Realm, while Bai Ze and the bald man were also rather tempted by this proposition, but both of them were looking at Han Li.
They knew that he was the most authoritative figure present.
An alarmed look appeared on Dao Ancestor Bai Yun's face as he swept a sleeve through the air to release a flurry of white clouds, which enveloped the Heavenly Court cultivators behind him before he turned to flee the scene.
"You're not going anywhere!" the corpse-like man from the Devil Realm yelled as he set off in pursuit as a streak of yellow light.
He had shared a very close relationship with He Lan, the seductive woman that had perished in the Three Thousand Daos Divine Array, and even though they hadn't become dao partners, the corpse-like man was still extremely resentful to the Heavenly Court for her passing.
He made a grabbing motion in Dao Ancestor Bai Yun's direction, and a massive, withered claw appeared above the latter, giving off bursts of viscous, yellow light and an intensely nauseating stench.
A vast expanse of surrounding space collapsed beneath the massive claw as a yellow spirit domain erupted out of it before rapidly descending upon the Heavenly Court cultivators.
A grim look appeared on Dao Ancestor Bai Yun's face as he stopped in his tracks and prepared for battle, but right at this moment, a streak of golden light appeared between the two of them in an instant.
The giant claw was instantly repelled by the golden light, while the yellow spirit domain disintegrated upon contact, following which Han Li appeared between the two combatants.
"What are you doing, Fellow Daoist Han?" the corpse-like man asked with a surprised expression.
"The True Immortal Realm has just undergone a major ordeal, and it needs to rest and recuperate. Now that Gu Huojin is dead, all past vendettas should be forgotten. From now on, none of the major powers are to seek vengeance or create conflict with others, and that applies doubly so to you Dao Ancestors," Han Li declared in an authoritative manner.
His aura was even more formidable than that of Gu Huojin during his peak as the Time Dao Ancestors, and his voice was heard across the entire True Immortal Realm.
In this instant, all cultivators across all of the immortal regions were struck by the urge to kneel and kowtow in the face of the aura of unmatched authority that had descended upon them, while fearful looks appeared on the faces of everyone in close proximity to Han Li.
"Now that Gu Huojin is dead, our primordial land's vendetta against the Heavenly Court has already been settled. As long as the Heavenly Court doesn't commit any further crimes against our primordial land, I promise that we won't instigate any conflicts," Bai Ze immediately declared.
Li Yuanjiu, Chi Rong, Chen Ruyan, and the rotund woman also quickly accepted this arrangement, while the corpse-like man was staring at Han Li with a look of fear and indignation in his eyes.
"Any objections?" Han Li asked without bothering to even look at the corpse-like man, but his boundless aura abruptly descended upon the latter, causing the space beneath his feet to explode violently.
His expression changed drastically as his entire body began trembling uncontrollably. Unable to bear the weight of Han Li's aura, his legs slowly gave out from under him as he fell to his knees.
"Fellow Daoist Duan Mu means no offense to you, he's merely still grieving over the demise of Fellow Daoist He Lan. Please spare him this once, and we'll do everything you say," the rotund woman hurriedly urged.
Han Li took a glance at her, and his aura slowly receded.
The corpse-like man was panting heavily, and the fear in his eyes had become even more pronounced as he gazed upon Han Li.
"Looks like you already understand," Han Li said in a calm manner as he turned to take a glance at the late-Great Encompassment Stage devilish prince, who instantly stumbled back in retreat as his complexion turned deathly pale.
"I do not wish to kill anyone, but if anyone dares to make any further inflammatory and instigatory remarks like you just did, then this will be their fate!"
Han Li swept a sleeve through the air as he spoke, and dozens of massive, golden vortex instantly appeared in the surrounding space, all of which were giving off extremely fearsome devouring force.
All of the space within a radius of hundreds of thousand of kilometers was shredded with ease before being devoured by the vortexes, and everyone was made to feel like a collection of tiny rafts sailing over a turbulent sea, prone to capsizing at any moment.
Even the likes of Li Yuanjiu and Chen Ruyan were unable to control their bodies, let alone the cultivators of lesser cultivation bases present, and they could sense that the golden vortexes were still only displaying a mere fraction of their power. Otherwise, everyone present would've already been devoured.
Everything within the vortexes was being twisted and warped by tremendous time law powers, and no one was under any illusion that they could possibly survive inside them.
