Chapter 319

"Huuuu...."

Trisha grunted as she deflected a sword strike to the side and then proceeded to bash her foot into the chest of a skeleton.

Due to the formation the group created, they were unable to be encircled from all sides.

Ducking under a swing from one of the creatures, she swung her hand from below and crashed her knuckles into the creature’s jaw with the help of ice encasing her whole hand.

The creature’s jaws smashed against each other and splintered immediately.

Twirling around while still crouched down, Trisha vaulted into the air as she avoided being rammed by a shield.

Before she could land, Van pointed his hand forward and sent a beam smashing through the bone shield and then the creature’s head.

This allowed her to land safely and whirl around before stabbing her ice sword into the head of another.

After saving the girl, Van turned to his own problem.

Lifting his energy blade upward, he intercepted a slash from above.

Placing his cannon directly against the chest of the creature, his eyes flashed blue as a beam tore through the skeleton’s whole body, shattering it immediately.

Due to his combination, he wasn’t as fast as the others in dealing with his enemies.

Chloe thrust her hands forward, sending a telekinetic force smashing into the bone limbs of the creatures that had been rushing toward Van.

This disoriented them, sending them crashing to the ground long enough for Trisha to assist with a few ice columns that bashed into their skulls, breaking through.

Due to the close proximity of these creatures around her, Chloe was forced to fight with her bow.

But this time, things were different as she had people around her to support her.

Parrying a spear strike to the side, she barged her shoulder into the creature, sending it stumbling into Trisha’s path.

The ice queen disassembled the creature instantly.

But unfortunately, even with how fast and efficient they were in taking down these bastards, they were still rising back up just as fast.

Luckily, the goal wasn’t to defeat them but to survive long enough for the morning sun to rise.

"Hey, Choe, right?" Kai called out mid-dodge of a strike from a creature before he bashed his knuckles into its head.

"How can you mess up a name as simple as ’Chloe’?!" Van, who heard Kai, called out as he sidestepped just in the nick of time as a slash tore through his uniform.

Swinging his hand forward, a blast shattered the skeleton in time.

"I wasn’t speaking to you, Dan," Kai growled as he leaned his head backward, allowing for a sword to swing past his face.

Then he snatched the bone hand, dragging it toward his body before flinging it forward and scattering the skeletons as if they were bowling pins.

"Listen to me, girl. You are switching between using your bow and ability when you can use them together and become more powerful."

Pausing for a moment as he tilted his head to the side, allowing a spear to rush past his face, he bashed his elbow into the creature’s head before continuing:

"... Just like when you shoot out an arrow and control it with your ability, in the same way; you don’t have to switch when fighting with your bow and then your ability. Combine them into something greater."

And with that, his attention was taken by more than a dozen of these skeletal creatures coming at him from the front. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

’Combine them together? But how? My ability isn’t even that strong to begin with and to control their bodies is a strain for me.’

Her eyes stretched wide as a bone sword descended on her from above.

She wasn’t fast enough to actually dodge and the others were too occupied to even help.

Without even thinking, her ability activated, pushing her hands forward to meet the sword with her bow.

Then, with a sudden push toward her elbow, she deflected the sword away before using her telekinetic ability with one hand, sending her body shooting forward as she thrust the pointed edge of her bow into the creature’s chest.

The attack barely went a few inches deep before she slammed it harder with a telekinetic push, sending the bow ripping through the entire ribcage and sending the creature falling in a rain of bone.

’Ha. I did it.’

Whack!

She was hit in the face immediately by a siege shield from one of the creatures, which sent her body almost flying away.

But with the use of her ability, she managed to regain momentum of her body in time.

.....

Hours went by with the teens now slowing down, as they had been fighting with everything they had from the onset.

Van and Chloe had now run out of meta-force and were barely scraping by with all their might as they suffered injuries here and there.

Trisha’s meta-force was also a shadow of its former capacity, yet the Ice Queen refused to back down as she continued with immense momentum.

Only Kai and Ray weren’t slowing down anytime soon as they rained havoc.

From running for eighteen hours straight, which was impressive for a bunch of teenagers, now they were fighting throughout the whole night as the whole world almost darkened on them, if it wasn’t for the moon shining and blessing them with a little bit of light and visibility.

Soon, as the hours stretched by even more, the teenagers were already losing steam and energy.

Van and Chloe collapsed to the ground in exhaustion while the skeletons converged on them immediately.

But before they could strike or deal any damage, the sun could be seen rising, causing the creatures to freeze in place and quickly begin falling to the ground one by one into a pile of bones.

And with that, the battle was finally over as everybody lay on their knees, panting and trying to recover their breath and energy.

Sweat clung to them heavily, making some of their injuries sting painfully.
