My Computer Leads to an Instance Dungeon
Chapter 388 - 249: Subspace and the Blonde Girl (2)
Fang Zhen nodded.
He suddenly turned to Mansa and Maso and asked, "Do Mages have a method to quickly transmit a message to the Royal Capital?"
"We do," Mansa and Maso answered at the same time.
The two Mages exchanged a look. Mansa Mage was clearly of higher status, so Maso kept his mouth shut.
Mansa said, "There is a Magic Array technique used by Mages that can transmit messages over considerable distances via an Array."
"However, this method of communication requires three days to set up the Magic Array. It’s also extremely expensive. Including materials and fees, sending a single message costs at least two hundred Gold Ropes."
"Because of this huge cost, it isn’t used lightly. But when it is, the message can be transmitted directly to the Magic Array in the Royal Capital."
Fang Zhen nodded slightly.
’This communication Array is really not cheap. Two hundred Gold Ropes is about 1,200 grams of Gold. Sending one message is like spending seven or eight hundred thousand RMB. Every word is practically worth its weight in gold.’
’But if it’s necessary, it must be spent. Money should be saved when possible, but you can’t be stingy at critical moments.’
He said, "Is there a limit to the length of the message for this transmission method?"
"The limit isn’t too restrictive. The upper limit allows for the transmission of a small book written on several dozen pages of parchment. A normal letter can be sent without any problem," Mansa replied.
"Good. In that case, I will write a letter. Ottis, you’ll help me draft it. I want to send this letter to the Royal Capital and the King. I expect we’ll receive a reply soon," Fang Zhen said.
Seeing that Fang Zhen seemed to have a plan, the others said no more.
However, the vast majority of them still had their doubts. They felt it was unlikely Fang Zhen could handle these problems properly; after all, each issue seemed nearly impossible to solve from their perspective.
But Fang Zhen had just won a war and carried the authority of a great victory.
Even if they weren’t entirely convinced, they didn’t dare show it for the time being. They could only wait and see how Fang Zhen would ultimately deal with these matters.
...
「Three days passed in the blink of an eye.」
During these three days, Fang Zhen primarily dealt with various matters within the army here.
’Although I’ve already completed the main objective in this instance, there are still many loose ends to tie up.’
Fang Zhen had already gained control of the current army and faction. He couldn’t just up and leave before everything was properly handled and concluded. If he did, all his efforts in building up this power would have been for nothing.
Besides, a faction could be disbanded quickly, but gathering it again would be difficult.
After this Nightmare-difficulty mission ended, it might unlock new permissions, allowing Fang Zhen to stay in this world for a longer period.
And now that he had reached such a high position in this world, from this elevated starting point, he just needed to consolidate his power. Once he had truly established his status, the Zambein Kingdom would become a great rear base, endlessly producing resources for Fang Zhen.
’A rear base must be stable. That’s something every Commander-in-Chief understands.’
Therefore, he had to unite the two Duchies to form his own stable rear, and this, in turn, depended on the support of all the nobles within the territory.
Fang Zhen already had a solution, so he wasn’t particularly worried.
He had an ace up his sleeve. When the time came to use it, no matter how difficult the nobles were, he would be able to handle them.
And during these three days, Fang Zhen’s greatest gain was that his Spiritual Power had almost finished refining the sub-space left behind by Balenzuo.
The most valuable thing Balenzuo had left behind was that sub-space.
Fang Zhen didn’t know the true definition of a sub-space, but when he spoke with the Mages, he learned some historical knowledge about this world from Mansa and Maso. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
According to legend, a long time ago—at least several hundred years—there was a chaotic dark age.
During that era, black spots would often appear in the sky and then rapidly expand. Sometimes, nothing would emerge from these spots. Other times, they would absorb things from the world. But most of the time, monsters would appear from within them.
That period was called the Age of Chaos, the time just before King Joseph rose to power.
Because the monsters that came out of the dark spot vortexes were generally very destructive and left deep scars on this world, the events were remembered by many and turned into legends.
The Mages, however, had their legacies and understood the truth of the matter best. They knew these black spots were called dark spot vortexes.
The specific origin of the dark spot vortexes was unclear. They could only be speculated to be some kind of demonic curse or an incarnation of evil.
But Fang Zhen seemed to have his own understanding of it.
’He was speculating: could the appearance of those dark spot vortexes mean that, for a certain period, a high density of sub-spaces had connected to this world?’
He filled in the blanks based on the novels and sci-fi movies he had seen. It was highly possible that when two worlds brushed past each other, their edges had some minor collisions, which then formed spatial rifts, allowing powerful monsters to enter this world.
A sub-space could also be described as an independent small world in a sense, except it was an extremely fragmented world with no living creatures. It could, however, serve as a storage space that could be perceived by one’s Spirit.
Of course, this was all just his own deduction, based on his own knowledge reserves—especially his reserves of sci-fi and novel content.
