Chapter 1141: Child
The God’s projection stayed silent at the mention of Anthony’s name, but his eyes flickered for a moment, a subtle flicker which the Devil King’s projection caught with ease. After a moment of silence that seemed to stretch longer than it truly was, the God’s projection finally spoke.
"I am aware of the child," the God’s projection stated with indifferent calmness.
"Child, huh?" The Devil King’s projection replied with an amused tone, his voice carrying faint tease.
Although the God’s projection didn’t go into detail, he indeed knew of Anthony. The God possessed an ability that allowed him to see through every memory of his Angels, and even see, hear, feel, and experience whatever they were experiencing in real time if he so desired. He had used this method extensively to gather information on every single person within the Arcanis Galaxy, leaving almost nothing beyond his perception.
Although he didn’t say it outright, if there was one person he was wary about, it was Anthony. After all, he had watched Anthony turn his Angels into Demons, and that had left him in a state of shock, a shock which he had only experienced when he first discovered the Arcanis Galaxy a few hundred years ago, before he was finally able to establish a link to it through the Tears in Reality.
Anthony’s ability to rewrite DNA wasn’t even what left him the most stunned at the moment, but rather the ability to also convert one form of energy into another, something that should have been fundamentally impossible. He had watched Anthony convert the Faith Energy, which only his Angels and the smaller races who worshipped him should possess as a result of their Faith in HIM, into Chaos energy, something only Demons should be able to use. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
And not only that, he had watched Anthony expertly switch between Faith Energy and Chaos energy during the battle as though he bore no limitations or restrictions that were imposed by the Laws of Reality themselves.
"I will be frank, he is also one of the reasons why I have sought you out," the Demon King’s projection stated. Although the God’s projection hadn’t said anything explicit about Anthony, the Demon King could already guess that the God’s projection seated before him knew Anthony well enough, far more than he let on.
"I fought him a few months ago," the Demon King continued, "he was weak at the time, couldn’t even defeat one of my clones that didn’t even hold one percent of my power, and he had to summon two of his friends to band together, but now, he possesses enough strength to go toe to toe with me." The Demon King’s non-existent eyes narrowed slightly as he spoke about Anthony, his tone shifting into something more serious beneath the surface.
A few months back, Anthony, Aaaninja, and Lucian had fought the Demon King’s soul clone together, but the Demon King had mistaken it, believing that Anthony had summoned Aaaninja at the time simply because he couldn’t win alone, not knowing that Aaaninja had intruded on the fight of his own accord, with Lucian also joining him soon after.
At the Demon King’s words, the God’s projection’s ’eyes’ narrowed sharply, as though he couldn’t believe such a jump in power. Going from not being able to defeat the Demon King’s clone with less than one percent of his power to being able to fight him at full strength within a few months left him in extreme shock.
Such a jump in power was literally unheard of. He personally possessed the ability to infuse his Angels with more power, thereby increasing their Angelic ranks, but that was achieved through the Faith and prayers which he gathered across the entire Galaxy itself, a system that required time, devotion, and structure.
Without said pure Faith and prayers, he wouldn’t have anything to bless his Angels with, nor would he have the means to elevate them further.
Besides, he understood how overwhelmingly powerful the Demon King was. If he didn’t, or if he thought the Demon King was below him in any shape or form, he wouldn’t be here to begin with. He understood that the Demon King was the only individual who could affect his plans, hence his presence here in this meeting.
As for people like the Spirit King? He didn’t fear such existences; he could crush them effortlessly if he truly wished to do so, their power insignificant in comparison to his own divine authority.
"Is such a thing even possible?" the God’s projection asked as he stared the Demon King’s projection in the ’eyes’, his tone carrying a rare hint of disbelief.
"Beings like us, who have existed for so long, can tell when one is lying, so I’m sure you can tell if I’m lying or exaggerating," the Demon King replied, the same small, knowing smile still present on his lips, as though he found the entire situation faintly amusing.
Although he said that, the God’s projection wasn’t moved. After all, one didn’t necessarily need to lie to deceive or mislead someone. The extinct Devil race from the Divinora Galaxy was the perfect example of this, as the truth itself could be twisted, shaped, and presented as nothing more than another form of manipulation, all while still remaining the truth.
"He is a threat to our plan," the Demon King continued to speak, his tone steady and deliberate.
But the moment he said the word "our," the God’s projection’s eyes flashed golden for a brief moment as he spoke, "Our plan?" His tone heavy, carrying immense weight as the natural gases in the surrounding air trembled subtly at the mere sound of his voice.
"Yes, our plan," the Demon King replied, completely unbothered by the God’s projection’s show of power, as though he personally couldn’t be bothered to engage in such displays. He had been alive for ages, for eons, such things were beneath him entirely.
"And what is this ’our plan’ you speak of?" the God’s projection asked suspiciously. He could already guess that the Demon King was simply trying to insert himself into something where he never belonged, as though he wanted a piece of a pie that was never meant to reach him.
The Demon King met the God’s gaze with a playful look as he spoke in an indifferent tone, "While your Angels and those from the lower races, or even the whole Divinora Galaxy, might buy into your holy and benevolent act of showing love, mercy, and acceptance to all existence, I’m sorry, I don’t," the Demon King began, his voice low yet amused, "while others may not be able to see through your plan, unfortunately for you, my dear mighty God, I’m far too perceptive and cunning not to see through such things, which is precisely why I want to join your plan."
The God’s projection didn’t interrupt; he simply listened in silence, his expression unreadable as the Demon King’s words settled into the space between them.
