I Only Wanted A Class In The Apocalypse
Chapter 1989: That Human is a Demon!
The fight started as soon as Legend’s forces approached the base. Thanks to the gathering of a large number of forces, no base could absorb the high number of warriors there. So they had to camp outside, forming a grand circle of protection around that base.
The moment Legend’s forces approached, those forces stirred up and attacked. The initial clash was quite intense and bloody, lasted far longer than any side expected.
The Toranks stationed inside that base thought this battle was easy to win. Yet they were startled by how fierce Legend’s warriors were. All of them had cultivation bases, all of them were attacking fiercely and without any reservations about their lives. And they seemed to be fighting alongside each other for quite a long time.
As for Legend, he thought the initial clash against the forces stationed outside the base would grow easy and would be crushed quickly. But when he noticed how hard it was to push them back, he instantly sent for his trump card: Hye.
The moment Hye got the news, he instantly moved inside a small ship towards that base. Even if the spaceships couldn’t fly high like before, they could still hover tens of metres above the ground, and move as fast as they did in space.
In less than half an hour, he arrived. And the moment he reached that battlefield, his eyes shone brightly at the grand scene that welcomed him.
To him, it was a generous meal waiting. And without any hesitation, he started first by deploying Lucas and other Soulers and Reapers, then he activated his technique.
"It’s time to replenish the lost forces on my side, and add far stronger ones."
He cracked an evil smile, a greedy smile, on his face, while keeping his black ship moving fast all over the battlefield to allow him to harvest as many forces as he could.
Unluckily for the enemy, they didn’t realise his presence until it was too late. By the time the news of the black ship arrived, with someone inside using a weird technique with a black sphere and black threads passing through lots of their ranks, Hye had already added tens of thousands to his side.
In a battle where hundreds of thousands were fighting, cutting off tens of thousands from one side and adding them to another was quite a blow.
Hye didn’t realise that this battle turned from being a fight against one base to a gathering spot for all the forces grouped around the Toranks. They called for all the forces on their side, gathered them constantly towards this base, using special and quite costly teleportation circles inside the base, replenishing the lost forces on their side.
That was why, after long hours of constant fighting, after siphoning hundreds of thousands of warriors from the enemy, the other side didn’t show a single sign of breaking or faltering.
Yet Hye didn’t stop the assault, nor did Legend. Even if the two didn’t know what was going on, as long as their forces were still crushing their enemies, and they weren’t the ones losing, then they wouldn’t stop.
Such a subtle and fast decision determined the fate of this battle without either of the two realising the importance of such a casual decision. Even if the enemies were showing a strong stand, they were actually shaking in their boots inside the base. They knew how many forces they poured into this meat grinder, and how many forces they lost. On top of that, and the scariest part, was that they knew how limited the forces left to arrive here to help were.
None of them said it, but their defeat was quite easy to tell. And regardless of how long they struggled, they would eventually lose this base, alongside tons of warriors they foolishly threw into the blazing fire outside.
"Screw that human! What is he made of? A demon in the flesh of a human or what?"
Even if they cursed, Hye was unstoppable. Their only hope, even being little, was for Hye to suffer from the same predicament they were facing. Yet Hye was like a bottomless pit when it came to such situations.
Hye kept sending lots of warriors from his inventory, not to mention the constantly added warriors he gained from using his technique. After a few hours, the situation turned from balanced on the surface to an overwhelmingly one-way fight in Hye’s favour.
The defensive lines cracked and crushed, and the enemies stopped pouring endless warriors from the base. And eventually, Legend managed to break into the base and take control of it.
This battle wasn’t simply about winning or losing a fight. This was the battle that determined the future of the entire area. The Toranks didn’t just lose most of their supportive forces; they lost the credibility and trust of other neutral forces in the Outer Battlefield.
While Hye was checking the warehouses and the different supplies and weapons stored within, news finally travelled and reached his ears; lots of neutral forces promised to join their side.
After all, this was the winning side, and only a fool would accept joining the sinking ship of the Toranks.
Hye spent the rest of the next day dealing with different logistics until Olana arrived. Then he left everything for her, led everyone towards the next target.
Even if the Toranks suffered a great defeat, they still had a few pockets of resistance left. And Hye intended to extract all of them and crush any future potential thorns from his side.
Like before, he left Legend to handle the initial attack while he roamed the battlefield, spreading his technique and gathering more forces to his side. Slowly, an infamous rumour spread across the entire Outer Battlefield, speaking about a small black ship, whose owner can turn tides and stop a tsunami on his own.
The second and third battles weren’t that intense like the first one, but the resistance wasn’t fading easily. Hye noticed something new: the individual strengths of the forces he fought in these two battles were increasing alarmingly.
