No one, not even Almara expected to run into a human so soon.

The City of Fik itself was around one-hundred kilometers away, or sixty-two miles away, but still, even with a bustling population of three-thousand, the city folk preferred living behind the protection of the city. Leaving the city was usually frowned upon, unless of course people had business to conduct, a task to finish.

It was even more odd to run into a single, seemingly twenty year old woman out here. Considering how spiffy, and clean her clothes looked, they were surprised that she made it to the safehouse by herself! One would think she flew over here, to prevent getting her dark and blue silk robe dirty, but the team had been up in the air themselves, and they were covered head to toe with bug remains, bug legs, so they knew that one couldn't remain clean even up there.

Nevertheless, they did step into the safehouse, because they believed that this young woman wouldn't harm them. She seemed more concerned about being attacked, or worse than the team did, so she was quick to strike another conversation. She wanted to hear these strangers talk, to try and figure out if they were creeps or not. The fact that Almara walked around naked, did not help the case.

"I'm Maria," She said, "I hate to bother you guys, you look like you need to hit the bathroom and clean yourselves up a little bit, but I gotta ask, what brings you out here?"

Jimmy could barely understand what Maria said, and Anna didn't have any luck either. They spoke the same language, mostly, but Maria was so isolated from the rest of the world, that she had an accent. She sounded like an educated cave woman, her words evolved. Another description would be that she sounded like a Scottish cavewoman. It took them a while to work around the accent, so Almara spoke on their behalf.

"We're here to see the city," Almara said, and she managed to understand Maria quite easily, as this was not her first rodeo with the accent of Fik, "Those two, my guests, are surface dwellers, and are very curious to see what makes your city so fancy."

"Ah, alright then," Maria nodded, "We value education, and so we make advancements. Magic is always helpful, but magic and science makes a great tool, because sometimes, fireballs aren't enough to scare the dinosaurs away, as you may know."

Jimmy understood half of what Maria said, which was progress. He was already getting used to her accent, granted, he was also challenged by the way his ears whistled, since he and Anna had been in the air for over ten hours.

However, he also noticed that Maria was uncomfortable, mainly because he was here. As far as he knew, a woman would never rest easily around a man she didn't know. He didn't want her to go through a sleepless night, so he made some effort to put her at ease.

"I'm Jimmy," He said, and then grabbed Anna, leading her towards the bathroom, "This is my girlfriend Anna, and we're going to take a shower now, assuming this safehouse has one… and the naked beauty in front of you is Almara, she's a shapeshifter."

"I figured she's a shifter," Maria nodded, "Explains why she's naked."

Almara did not care what everyone around them said. She was quite clean, since she had shapeshifted earlier on, assuming the form of a fresh, clean human, or the form she usually relied on when she shifted into a human. Beautiful and clean, she did not need to shower.

Jimmy chuckled, and stepped into the bathroom with Anna, and discovered that this safehouse did in fact have a shower.

As soon as they were out of sight, Maria kept her voice low, as she said, "I barely understood anything he said. Surface dwellers sound weird, but I saw what he did… he tried to make me comfortable. Sweet of him."

She was talking to Almara, because by comparison, she was more used to a shapeshifter than surface dwellers, as they called them, such as Jimmy and Anna. Speaking with locals was always easier, even though they were complete strangers.

Almara did not answer. She was sound asleep, and had already started snoring. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Maria felt offended, but she tried to have a positive attitude.

"At least they won't molest me or something like that," She whispered, "Of course they won't. Dinosaurs are the enemy. Us humans must maintain a united front!"

Maria talked herself down, up until she sat, and laid down on her bunkbed. She kept an eye on her gear, her satchels, and tried to remain attentive.

However, even though the walls around here were thick, and made out of steel, the door that led to the bathroom was thin, and could not block sound from traveling.

She heard Jimmy and Anna giggling on the other side. They were sharing a shower, after all, and so Maria guessed they had plenty of reasons to be cheery.

"Please don't have sex…" Maria whispered, "So awkward…"

Within the bathroom, Jimmy and Anna were naked, but they were not having sex. They were enjoying something that even the super advanced alien bunker from back home failed to provide, and that was hot, running water!

They haven't had a shower in weeks! They did keep themselves clean, they had to, but the massive pool of cold water from the home cavern wasn't nearly as comforting as a hot shower.

Jimmy and Anna giggled away, and rubbed each other clean, wiping away mud, dirt, and insect legs from each other's bodies, from places they couldn't reach by themselves.

"I missed this so much…" Anna said.

"Me too!" Jimmy chuckled, "I feel bad we never shared a shower before… you know? I think we would've had a lot of fun."

"You little perv," She giggled.

Proving that he was a bit of a pervert, Jimmy started rubbing Anna's breasts clean, as if she couldn't clean them herself.

"Gotta keep the twins clean," He smirked.
