Chapter 285: "I love you, Jimmy, so I’m making a Bird Suit for you"

"Of course I was going to save your ass, Jimmy," She said, "I love you."

"I love you too, princess," He smiled.

By the time he was done explaining why exactly the bird tried to fuck him up, he was also done scanning Anna's body.

From the looks of it, he has done a great job earlier on. She was fit as a fiddle, she was healthy, and didn't have any broken bones, but he did fear that she got one, or even several infections from the bird, and the countless branches that had been jabbed in her back.

Jimmy was good at what he did, but he couldn't see bacteria or diseases in one's blood, not even on his best day, so as a precaution, he decided to give her immune system another boost. Some diseases may be too hard to fight through her immune system, and he was aware of that, but he was hoping for the best.

Scratches could kill someone who couldn't get any medical attention, as they only needed a tiny entry point into the bloodstream, but in this case, he was the medical attention. He helped her without her even knowing about it this time around, and managed to find some inner peace himself.

He was quite efficient with his work too. After all that healing he did, he still had fifty percent of mana to spare within his pool. Only half of it was gone, and considering that he essentially glued his severely broken leg together, which would've otherwise been amputated back on Earth, he felt quite confident with his capabilities. He was the best of the best, as far as he knew.

Anyway, once he was done, he said, "We should get back to the safehouse now, and relax. I'd love to get moving, but this God forsaken jungle is too random. We could get killed by something that hasn't even been discovered yet. If we're going to play it safe, I need my mana pool to fly over above eighty percent at least. You never know what sort of wounds I'd need to heal."

"We should camp out a little while longer, then," Anna expressed, "I was planning to make you a bird suit anyway, so I'm going to need a little bit of time."

"Oh, that's sweet, but I don't think that's possible," He said, "The skin would just rot away, and then all the feathers would fall apart since there wouldn't be anything holding them together."

Anna was impressed by his insight. She held on to him just a little bit tighter in response, to give him a sideways hug, and then she let go of him, and squatted close to the bird.

"Birds are supposed to be lightweight, so I understand why you think that, but I had my hands on this big motherfucker, and I can safely tell you that you're wrong. He's a lot tougher than you think, and it took me everything I had to sink my hands on its skin." She explained.

Jimmy did not care about the bird itself, he just wanted to get out of this jungle, and rest within the sanctuary that the safehouse provided. However, he unintentionally triggered Anna's obsessive side, which was no different from a walking wikipedia, really.

She continued to explain, "This species was designed to survive the jungle. If it evolved up there, in the surface world, it would've been at least half as heavy, even if it maintained its current size, height, and wingspan. Its bones are not as hollow as you'd expect them to be. It's tough all over, including its skin, so it'll make a great suit."

Jimmy did not want to argue with her, because he wasn't even sure if he could. He certainly wasn't educated on the matter enough, and just knew a few facts.

Anna on the other hand, was downright passionate about the science behind it, regardless of the fact that this bird nearly killed her, and her friends just minutes ago. Her hate for the bird was not stronger than her scientific interest. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Jimmy had to say, "Well, if you want to spend a couple of hours skinning this cunt, then I won't stop you, but I won't leave you alone this time either. That campfire got us in enough trouble already."

Putting her hands on the carcass, she said, "There's no need for us to risk our hides, just help me pull it to the safehouse. I can skin it behind the slit, in front of the safehouse door. I'm sure that's considerate enough of us, cause we can just throw the rest of the bird into the jungle afterwards, and it wouldn't get the safehouse all bloody and stinky."

Jimmy cooperated. He hated this bird with every fiber of his being, and didn't even want to touch it again, initially, but Anna was very convincing. Her passion was infectious.

As they put their brains together, they started to become more efficient. To make things easier, of course, and this was when they discovered that they didn't need the wings of the brown eagle.

Even if its skin under the feathers, surrounding the wings was durable enough to survive the skinning, it wasn't like Jimmy could make use of it. He didn't have wings himself, and with the bird's wingspan being several meters long, its skin would just be a drag, one that would get him snagged in odd places.

For that matter, they had Almara step on the bird's wings. She was still assuming the form of a jacked up River Fatty, so she came in quite useful in the regard, and helped snap the bird's wings off.

Once the two of them propped the bird, she stepped on its wings, close to the torso, breaking its bones beyond use.

Anna then swooped in, sliced through the flesh, meat, and everything in between that tried to hold the wings together, and just like that, they now had a wingless eagle. One that weighed at least half the time less, and was less of a pain in the ass to skin.

It took them twenty minutes to snap its wings clean, but it was worthwhile. Now all they had to do was practice safety, and drag the bird to the safehouse.
